I lose my shit every time I see that bird, every time. Just when I think I've sufficiently steeled myself, my bowels fail me again. My personal theory is that the effects man turned terrorist before unleashing this indiscriminate attack on our collective cinematic psyche.

It would have a chance at being a good movie if the monster weren't so hilarious, but it's still fun.

While most is competent enough and Jeff Morrow is always entertaining the SFX are some of the worst I've ever seen not only because they're so blatantly dopey but they're used so extensively. But that's what makes it so much fun, it's a film I think that really separates the men from the boys.

Whether you like this movie or not probably depends on whether you like B sci-fi or not :-) I thought it was a pretty entertaining movie--fairly average for its type--and personally, I thought the giant bird was rather cute :-)

That bird is absolutely hilarious. Never in my entire life have I seen such a hysterical monster puppet. Holy. fuckin. shit. The ending: I'll get you next time, suckers!

This one wasn't as bad as I'd heard, and I can say I was wildly entertained through most of it (for both good and bad reasons). Yes, the puppet of the bird (I heard it was as "big as a battleship") is kind of goofy (as is the blurry footage of it streaking across the sky), and the science used to explain it even worse, but the acting wasn't terrible and the pacing is pretty good.

The leads are pretty likable, pretty much everything else about this film is pretty ridiculous. But it's certainly entertainingly ridiculous.

Few singular missteps have been as ruinous for a film as a whole as that Big Bird understudy -- it really was beyond the pale. In this day and age, that's the entire appeal of seeking TGC out, but surprisingly, some non-monster parts were halfway decent. Morrow's fine (if a bit old) in the role as wisecracking hero, and Corday's likable and appropriately hammy as his helper and mental equal. Shoutout to the unnecessary VO + the creepy and severely not OK Trumpian plane smooch. 5th film of 2018.

You have to see it to believe it. The effects for the giant bird are awful and it hurts the movie. Which would have otherwise been solid 50s sci-fi.

The main creature is beyond ugly as hell and the movie is pretty basic, yet I was entertained anyways. So many 1950s sci-fi horror movies have that goofy charm that makes you forget they're stitched together out of models and whatever the director can get his hands on at the moment.

Anti-matter? Molecular osmosis? Did the creators know the monster of their movie is a giant buzzard? An utterly hilarious one at that; how was anyone supposed to look at it and not bust a gut? In fact I'm sure they didn't know it was a bird; they compared it to a battleship literally 12 times! Seriously, this movie was funnier trying to be serious than a lot of comedies trying to be funny!

ASTONISHING! And not because it's good, but because it's so darn bad. More specifically the special effects are truly awful. The story is also goofy as can be and there are lots of great bits of non-science involving atoms and anti-matter. This gets a high recommendation from me!
