The Giant Mechanical Man

Shambling...and predictable, but the leads make it worth a watch. Sweet.

Standard drama of pretty white people, and their pretty standard problems. Suck it up kids.

For the most part a low-key, sincere and sweet story, bringing the likability of Jenna.F and C.Messina to very good use. Solid support as well, except an overly obnoxious T.Grace in a poorly and too obvious written role. *Preview*: #13#, exp-3*, story, reviews, cast, R4.

To say there's absolutely no drama this is much better than you'd expect.

Slightly slower, but also more realistic, than your average Hollywood romcom. Nothing spectacular but perfectly pleasant and endearing little movie.

There are some moments of sincerity and beauty in this indie romance about these two losers that just don't know what they want or need in life. In times of financial crisis, contemporary life seems even more distant and indifferent, and Kirk dares to simply care and ask questions we all silently make -- do I really need to have a goal right now? do I really have to know what I want? It takes just one person to make you feel great, but it's way easier to accept this magic in fiction.

Jenna Fischer one of the only women alive that adds +30 points by default. +10 for this one song i liked and -5 because i couldn't find it anywhere.

Not much of a story...a few moments here and there...pretty predictable and unoriginal. While the premise was plausibly interesting, the acting wasn't very good and the writing not very believable. A standard "independent" romantic comedy. I use the term "independent" as a synonym for the new Hollywood mainstream.

I'm always so disappointed when a movie about modern existential dread doesn't end with the people joining a revolutionary communist cell

it's all almost a little too innocent and nice in the end. nicely done by the Messina and the Fischer, though.

There is just something about these "quiet" love stories that makes me believe the emotions and appreciate the not so mainstream characters more. *Recommandable (if you agree)
