The marriage of word and image is handled very well, and Branagh makes an excellent narrator, infusing Goebbels' words with the proper air of snobbery without stooping to snide caricature. You learn an awful lot about Goebbels: his early humiliations, his doubts about Hitler gradually transforming to worship, his loathing of Goering, his manic-depression, his increasing arrogance, and even his film critiques. A fascinating look at the man, and through his eyes, the rise and fall of the Reich.

Some insight into the life of the Nazi propagandist. Many scenes of Hitler and the war machine. The perspective was limited to Goebbles, and as such does not give an adequate overview of the events of the war. Up to Berlin being taken, he still thought they could win.
