A show movie from Samuel Goldwyn. Tries to be a parody on Hollywood life and all it's phony clichés, but manages to deliver even lamer clichés when trying to counter them! This was the Hollywood debut of now forgotten German/Norwegian performer Vera Zorina! A ballet star. The rest of the movie consist of various show acts on rotation. Mostly radio and stage stars. The one savior was The Ritz Brothers! Their zany scenes was just what this mess needed! "Here pussy, pussy, pussy......"

A movie producer fallen on hard times (Adolphe Menjou) hires a down-to-earth young woman (Andrea Leeds) as a consultant for "humanity", and she maneuvers the burger flipper she loves (Kenny Baker) to stardom. Clunky extravaganza, padded with dumb comedy (plus, a human falls in love with Charlie McCarthy), ballet and opera sequences, and tedious reprises of Gershwin's "Love Walked In". Ben Hecht's script is one of his weakest, but it looks nice in early Technicolor and is ultimately watchable.
