The Good Heart

Predictable and generic, but yet very watchable because of the way in which it was shot.

Brian Cox really makes it worth watching 'The Good Heart'. Maybe he says 'bitch' or 'fuck' once or twice where it wasn't necessary for us to get that he was a grumpy old git, but nevertheless he's as natural in the part as anyone will ever be. Great pair - not really him and Paul Dano, but him and the bar. It's a fine film, mostly because it certainly doesn't try to hard.

A movie that could have gained at least 10 points in my book by having a different title, for reasons that will be obvious that when you're ten minutes in. Still, I could watch Brian Cox read from the phonebook...
