Without Chastain and Redmayne's great performances, it'd be a lesser movie, as its pacing is not the best. Not that it matters as they, and the unsettling facts based story at the center, are all the movie needs.

A surprisingly compassionate and absolutely amazingly acted true crime thriller that fortunately realizes this insane killer was a human and has some very good traits. By not portraying him like some basic evil being from hell this makes it all the more eerie and memorable. +5 (maybe +10?) for Biospheres fitting, bone chillingly beautiful soundtrack that reminded me how brilliant his music can be. Don’t forget to turn up the sub. I hope he will take on more film jobs!

Too bad for Chastain that the candidates for best actrice were in abundance this year: so many great performances! But hers should have gotten a nomination too, for sure. Why not six oscars this year? For best actress they should've made the exeption (and if they insist on the number 5, then scrap Williams or Yeoh).

It's too slow and too long for what it is. You know where the story is going from the start, even if you're not familiar with the events portrayed. If it managed to be more suspenseful or delved deeper into the more interesting sides of the story (the hospitals responsibility in the crimes and the nurses working conditions) it might have kept me engaged, but it didn't. Good performances save it from being completely boring, but not enough to truly hold my attention.

Neil deGrasse Tyson after watching The Good Nurse: “it should have been called The Bad Nurse actually." You really couldn’t have spit out a more algorithmic true-crime/prestige Netflix drama if you tried. I’d say it’s at least watchable in a trashy sort of way, but its ceaseless familiarity is deathly dull and the material feels ruthlessly stretched out to fill a two hour runtime.

There's not a lot to the story but the film managed to keep my interest mainly through some great acting.

I was really into it, and surprised people found it dull. The ending was a little lackluster, but Chastain and Redmayne are terrific.

Deliberately paced, and not particularly tense or hard to predict. Although it is somewhat engrossing, and the two leads carry the film heavily. For a two hour film, it never felt outright boring, even if it could’ve used a bit of a trim. Could’ve potentially been better as a documentary, but not at all a bad watch if you can’t find anything else on Netflix.

The Good Nurse, a sobering thriller that’s ostensibly about a serial killer, but more concerned about the healthcare system that allowed him to operate for 15 years before he was finally brought to justice. Lindholm isn’t the type of director who’s inclined to goose up the suspense, which is not to say that The Good Nurse isn’t humming with it. That instinct to underplay leads to the film’s one nagging problem, which is Redmayne’s curiously mannered performance as Charlie.

This was surprisingly good. Suspenseful. Good acting.

I love how Redmayne’s killer nurse (albeit having plenty of shady moments) is depicted as he genuinely was perceived by his colleagues. Caring and warm. Weather he’s a brilliant sociopath or something else, I appreciate how evil isn’t painted with pure black here. Humans rarely are black pitch evil, regardless.

Senenin seri katil filmi. Sessiz ve derinden. Hemşire Jessica Chastain, yeni erkek hemşir Eddie Redmayne ile beraber çalışırlar. Hastalar nedensiz ölmeye başlayınca soruşturma açılır. Serumların içinde insülin ve digoksin vardır. Sağlık sistemini deşifre eden film, benim hiç suçum yok tokadını yüzümüze vuruyor. Başarılı. Etkileyici. Sinir bozucu. Realist. Filmin sonunda, hiç kimse beni durdurmadı. Her canlı 1 gün ölümü tadacaktır.

While the film has solid performances and a fascinating true story at its center, it falls short of its potential. The slow pace and lack of exploration into the killer's motivations make the film less engaging than it could have been. Still, Chastain and Redmayne's performances are worth watching, even if the film itself isn't as thrilling as it could have been.

Dry acting, dull pacing and atmosphere, and a really slow burn to actual payoff to all of the buildup can't help an admittedly hauntingly captivating true story succeed as a film.

Chastain and Redmayne clearly take the wheel for this one. Chastain playing the titular Good Nurse as Redmayne Charlie is at the centre of the films story. While the film keeps you focused on the story it deliberately keeps the damage to the health care system at a minimum. It should have been an outcry for help but instead passes on the opportunity to make more deliberate commentary on the subject. A solid movie none the less though.

A well acted film about a horrific subject. Chastain is brilliant here and Redmayne shines in various scenes himself. It's perhaps a touch too long, but a solid viewing nonetheless. 6.6.

Jessica Chastain and Eddie Radmayne are the only factors that carry this movie. Yes, The Good Nurse manages to be creepy in some scenes, but mostly incredibly dull.

Overly long at a run time of 2 hours. Could have been justified by exploring the negligence of the hospitals and why no charges were brought forward against them, but we’re stuck a rather dull movie instead.

There's a good thriller in there somewhere, and at times it comes out, but I have problems with the pacing, the runtime, the dour cinematography, the police procedure, and the straightforward nature of the story.
