In this bedroom farce, an ex-wife overhears her former hubby's new wife and her lover planning a tryst for the weekend while the husband is away on a business trip. Hoping that the husband will catch them in the act, the ex creates an elaborate scheme whereby the lovers' plans are foiled and they must spend the weekend at her house. She then arranges for her former husband to drop by so he can see for himself the kind of hussy he married. (allmovie.com)

A movie with three of my favorite actresses-- Francis, Tobin and Dodd-- that was unfortunately made in 1935 and not 1934. Still, considering the type of roles Tobin usually had, it's funny to see the tables turned on that archetype, and Francis gets some great zany moments. Dodd is a waste though-- did they dress her in tarps for a reason?-- and the film doesn't land very well.

What a farce! A bit on the light side, but dizzy enough! Cheats, gigolos and crooks all stranded in one house claiming to be each other! Yeah, it's an absurd one, but brings the laughs and winning personalities. Genevieve Tobin and her flirting ways was the lady stealing this flick while George Brent & Kay Francis in their 3rd outing together of '35 are the main stars all sweet. The Goose and the Gander (1935) is very charming, though with a little more steam it would have been better.
