The grand musical montages in The Great Waltz celebrating the uplifting music of Johann Strauss was wonderful with all the MGM gloss one can imagine. Excellent editing and Hollywood trying to be creative with the music. However this movie had screen poison.... MILIZA KORJUS. Her voice totally butchered the experience for me. And Korjus presence was so dominant that she even put Luise Rainer in the shadow. An actress who'd just come off winning back-to-back Oscars for Best Actress!
