The Greeks Had a Word for Them
Sophisticated comedy: a trio of money hungry women who all have sugar daddies who keep them in the lap of luxury, even as they drive the men crazy. Each woman represents a different personality type, from sensitive, to kind-hearted, to difficult and untrustworthy. Set in the age of jazz, the twenties come roaring back with immorality and in-fighting. (imdb)

An important historical relic because it's one of the only movies where Ina Claire's famous comedic abilities are on full display. Pauline Kael refers to her as "the great sophisticate herself"... I find her rather trashy. But it's a basically likable comedy, even if those twats treat their poor male victims absolutely hideously (well, except for Madge Evans). You KNOW this is pre-code when there's a scene with Ina Claire wearing a fur coat... with nothing underneath.

Glamorizing gold diggers. These girls sure love their sugar daddies and ends up fighting each other for them. Chick comedy and it's got some funny moments with Ina Claire being the super bitch who betray her friends. It's a shame she didn't do more movies then she did. This is her last appearance until Ernst Lubitsch's Ninotchka in 1939. Got to love her strip scene here!
