I'd love to see more horror films by Corin Hardy, for while this is ultimately a bit too weak in the plot department, the mood and the special effects are terrific.

The creature effects are visually impressive and I'd recommend a watch to any horror fan for that reason alone. And by that, I do really mean "and that reason alone," as there really aren't any reasons to recommend this. The story is a mess, tension is lacking, and the director employs one of my most-hated techniques of all time--the obviously (CG) animated monster-virus-kills-a-normal-cell-under-a-microscope scene. Fuck you, science.

Creature effects are great and reminiscent of The Descent

An interesting take on the fae myths of Ireland. It's nice to watch something so home-grown, though the Garda was a bit too competent to be believed. An interesting story, and tragic in the way the myths are! I had a lot of affection for this film.Watch the credits through!

Not a bad one, but I found it a little slow.

Great creature special effects in a terrible movie

A couple of refreshing twists on horror movie conventions and a few scary moments, as well as an almost plausible explanation that wasn't actually needed, make this a worthwhile watch.

Another one in the straight to "dvd" basket. It wasn't that bad but it could have been much better if the plot wasn't so thin!

A little hallow, but The Woods (2015) was a more thrilling experience then most recent horrors. The forest creatures and how they destroy was a welcome way of zombifying someone. More organic.

Same old same old when it comes to horror movies about threats to the nuclear family, but apart from a couple of scenes that look far too much like greenscreen stages, it has a great feel and look, and intriguing monsters that deserve a more interesting plot.
