It's hardly a comedy and turns into an action thriller for some reason which is kinda funny come to think of it. A little too much Ken Jeong. The chemistry is great (no shit what an observation after the 3rd film) I'll follow again into another sequel.

A character singing "I Believe I Can Fly" while parachuting is not funny in 2013, right? It wouldn't have been funny when the song was new and it's not funny now. Why not do a "Run Forrest Run!" reference while hitting on easy dated pop culture beats?

While I thoroughly enjoyed the first, the second was hardly better than a bowlful of hot mashed ass, Zach Galifianakis has never been funnier than his unkempt beard, and Ed Helms is quite possibly the antichrist when it comes to comedic talent. So imagine my surprise when I popped in the DVD expecting abso-fucking-lutely naught, and ended up with even less. How is that even possible? I suppose I only have myself to blame. Damn you, convenient in-flight video-on-demand technology!

It's got a few chuckles until Goodman and his goons show up and the plot kicks into motion, then after that, it's almost like everybody starts taking things seriously. For real. Like, it suddenly becomes a (rather shoddy) beat-the-clock action flick. It's incredibly weird and discombobulating. Like, were these people even trying? Were they just really, really tired? Were they out of comic ideas, or did they just stop giving a shit, or what? I won't miss these movies.

"Whenever we get together people get hurt." "I know! That's the point, it's funny!" Ken Jeong sums up the entire point of The Hangover series in one line. Brilliant.

It gets points for going the logical route and going more big and epic because it's closing out the trilogy. It's just painfully unfunny and I wasn't a huge Chow fan to begin with and there was too much of him (and some shit he said was just terrible). It can become a heist thriller/comedy and that's wonderful but it would have helped if it was funny. As an action movie it's okay, as a comedy it is not.

The fact that there was no hangover (well other than the last bit) in this movie felt odd. I did like they broke the familiar story from the first 2, but the jokes just didn't land for me. This is the weakest of the trilogy unfortunately, and doesn't even come close to the first one.

That THE HANGOVER PART III departs from the series' formula isn't the problem in of itself; the problem is that it doesn't result in a very interesting--or funny--film. The tone is off throughout, and much of the film feels sour and unhappy, not helped by a cast that seems mostly unenthused. Ken Jeong has all the best moments, but the Wolfpack is a shadow of its former self. Todd Phillips' direction is surprisingly strong (and there's some good cinematography), but not to the film's advantage.

Seriously, what's with the Chinese guy? Don't watch it sober or without drugs or crazy friends. With that it's barely passable but with many moments that make non-sober mind laugh. Time killer sure, but also very forgettable. Also, can Helms act more than one character in his career?

after hangover 2 tried way the hell too hard to be funny, zany, and out there i actually really appreciated that this took a more lowkey approach to its humor.. im not in any rush to watch it again, but i got into it and there are moments between cooper and galifianakis that were dry brilliance

It feels "fresher" than Part II, but the jokes actually land less often. So what it gains in some creativity, it loses in actual comedy. Just as with Part II, it's worth catching on HBO but it's not something to go out of your way to see.

The first movie had charm and humor. The second film served as a suitable sequel where we got a lot more of the same. This film is not only unnecessary, but it deviates highly from the formula of the first two films. And the worst part: NOT FUNNY.

This will be nothing new to anybody, but, it's better than the second one, just based on it being a different formula within the same construct of "Wolfpack must do X to find/save Doug". Still not as good as the first one, but, it doesn't have to be. Goodman is awesome; everybody is really on-point, actually. It wasn't as uproariously funny as the first, it packs more laughs than Part 2. Would have liked to have seen more consequence to the guys' actions. But comedy is comedy and this is great.

there is no surprise that the last chapter of the wolf pack would not be a triumph. it is practically an unfunny and ridiculous sequel for sure. even though it was a little bit better than part 2.nevertheless,this is far beyond redemption but a downward spiral. fortunately, there are some slapstick jokes that is a reminder of the first hangover. however,it is not enough to cover the weak plot and lazy character development, only Jeong and Galifinakis has that opportunity.its a disappointmen

'The Hangover Part III' got a few chuckles out of me, but the movie pales in comparison to the first one. I happened to like that they tried something different and change the tone of the movie. However, I feel they didn't fully commit leaving you feeling like neither the comedy nor the adventure part of this movie was good enough. That, along with the fact that the mystery element from the first two movies is gone, kills this movie.

Abandoing the original and fantastic premise was a step in the direction of originality, but it seemed to have stepped too far out of bounds in terms of its comedy. While its cast is still great, its script took a nose-dive and my interest in the plot fell compared to the last two entries. That being said, John Goodman is a lovely addition, and there's still beauty in many shots. It's not the worst comedy to exist, but it's not good by many means.

The thing that made the first Hangover initially hilarious was you had no idea what to expect, but on rewatches, it's not that funny. The third Hangover has a few funny parts and John Goodman in any movie is always a plus, but it's nowhere near how funny the first one was. Don't get me wrong, I laughed, but that's not hard to do.

If you can get past the revulsion that a one shot idea has been distorted into a trilogy, The HO3 isn't that bad, thanks largely to the involvement of John Goodman and the increased screen time of Ken Jeong.

I haven't enjoyed any of The Hangover films, but at least the first film had some novelty. Hangover 2 was a lesser clone, and H3---I really don't know what this is. This feels like a straight-to-video spinoff sequel titled Hangover Presents: The Alan Adventures. The plot is ripped out of a thriller and the only mild laughs---of which there are maybe two---come from some sprinkles of Zach G's humor. This isn't a wretched film, but bland to the bone. Little imagination went into the script.

It's no masterpiece, but the never-stronger chemistry of the amusing leads carries it off. Abandoning the hangover conceit allows for a nice change of pace, blending heist thriller with farcical comedy, and there's even a few nice dramatic moments. I also approved of the relatively taut running time, in an era when 2 hrs has become the unwitting standard for screen comedy. The trilogy isn't going to go down as one of cinema's all-time great franchises, but it'll go down as a fun, enjoyable one.

I guess they took a chance by changing the basic premise of the two previous movies or maybe they didn't have a choice, either way this movie obviously lost the fresh side of the first one and with just a couple of funny scenes you can't save a movie.

There were a lot of laughs in this third and hopefully final film in the series. Unfortunately I was let down by the story. The first two made sense why they were called the Hangover. There was no Hangover in this film. It was more like a heist movie or a kidnapping flick. Everyone did their part and did it well, I just was disappointed with the structure of the film. The first half is a lot more funny than the last. This might be one of the two McCarthy parts I like. She was pretty good.

Officially a nonsensical, unnecessary, unfunny lull of action-comedy filmmaking, a la the bits of IT'S A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD script left in the desk. The hangover is left for the post-credits scene, so what we get here is an explanation about why this was made -- to justify things we saw in the first two and finally give Alan the space to go solo, getting his life back on track, leading the wolfpack's final (?) adventure (or, say, part heist film, part road movie whose climax takes place in Vegas) and meeting his soulmate. Not particularly funny and still a ride with just a couple of really good scenes -- and one of them is Chow singing Hurt.

With the last energy left in my body after having all the rest of it sucked out of me by three of the worst films to grace theatrical screens in the history of the medium, I would just like to be granted a simple wish. That wish is this: Let the Hangover franchise die for good. No reboots. No sequels. Just let it be done. We can bury all the copies that exist on Earth, preserving only the masters so that we can be reminded never to make such an unfunny and unenjoyable series of movies again.

Although not quite as entertaining as the first two installments, this film is a fitting end to an outrageous trilogy. During the course of the film we're brought back to old characters, plot points and locales in a way that rounds off the whole tale. The new spin on the 3 characters having madcap adventures to rescue the fourth is a thankful change, but the overall hyped extremes the film takes to outdo the originals would definitely see a 4th crash and burn. Entertaining nonetheless.

The premise is well past its expiration date, but the proceedings of PART III feel surprisingly sentimental, thanks largely to the work of Ken Jeong. His dissolute mobster blows through the film like an emotional tornado and is easily the most refreshing part of a stale formula. He can't save the whole movie from eating its own tail, but he does make it more watchable.

Throwing out the format that defined the first two, Part III plays more like a modern action/thriller than a comedy, with the gags acting as asides rather than the meat of the picture. It's not bad for what it is though, and while not being anything I'd particularly recommend I wouldn't warn others off it either. The fact Ken Jeong's character has gone from being the most annoying to the best thing in it within three films shows how his star is rising.

It just felt unnecessary, boring and tedious. It was nothing but a cash grab. Todd Phillips created another excuse to use these characters again. The best scene came halfway through the credits, that is how funny this film was.

The weakest of the three & I counted exactly one laugh, but I still can't help appreciating the way the writers manage 2 tie some ludicrously over-the-top story points & plotlines into a mostly organic and almost-plausible whole. Kudos as well for forgoing the usual template & bleeding the first "hangover" into this film; & even though Chang remains another image of an Asian man as an object of ridicule, the slight sense of danger he carries with his brand of madness is something new.

I knew it wouldn't be good, but I had to conclude the trilogy anyway. Well, I say "trilogy", but really, it's just two lame sequels that just tried to copy the success of the first film. They did try in the film to make it seem like it was the concluding chapter, which I guess I appreciate, but that doesn't excuse it for being boring and not funny. I just tired of these characters, even after only three films. I don't even remember what happened in it. I hope this really is the last one.

The Hangover Part III brings the crazy, outrageous series to a satisfactory finale. The formula is shaken up with the plot outline taking the mould of a heist thriller. My reaction however is of mixed feelings. The characters collectively are as strong as ever and set pieces are entertaining, but this film is overall average at best and something of a disappointment. There are several laughs and glimmers of the much loved original, but ultimately I'm relieved the series has come to a close.

It is actually slightly better than the second movie, as it isn't just the first movie's story repeated over again verbatim. It feels more like an action thriller with a few jokes than a comedy, but I guess that's kind of original, even if I never had a single big laugh in the entire film. There's also, between a giraffe, some chickens, and a couple of dogs, a somewhat weird over-reliance on animal death for "humor," which is uncomfortable.

Has all the creaks and groans of a studio mandated production, and it feels like Galifianakis and Jeong are the only cast members who really want to be here - and why wouldn’t they, when given free reign to indulge their hammiest tendencies. The film miscalculates by assuming that we want to see our heroes in outlandishly violent scenarios ala MISSION IMPOSSIBLE rather than the escalating farcical sequences which served the previous entries so well; these guys are not convincing men of action!
