Not as bad as many would have you believe. Its got a few stand out moments, and although its a tad too long and it out stays its welcome a little bit, this is a pretty amusing film. There are some good comic performances and the script is pretty tight. No classic, but entertaining and its general lack of morals is quite refreshing!

Essentially a "There's Something About Mary" rehash with none of the wit or charm or grace or sense of pacing or anything that makes that movie good let alone watchable.

The first hour and 15 minutes or so are funny, but the last half hour is tedious and mostly void of laughs.

The Farrelly Brothers swing and miss with "Heartbreak Kid," a film with promise that turns disastrous, ludicrous and redundant. Ben Stiller usually welcomes, but here he's not funny and neither are the jokes. We don't feel any sympathy for him by the second half, and it's all so completely bizarre by the final scene that I utterly hated the whole ordeal.

Ben Stiller is like a smart man's Adam Sandler. He plays the same character in every movie, even the movies he isn't in.

Not a bad movie, I actually laughed quite a bit. It's definitely geared toward the more raunchy, Judd Apatow crowd then with the more lighter Ben Stiller comedies of the past. Still it's not as terrible as others have said it to be.

A less funny, but still funny, Something About Mary. The humor is slapstick and pulls a fair amount of laughs, but it still feels a little hollow.

A pretty bad comedy that fails to really find its footing. The comedy is over reliant on sex jokes and swear words, and Stiller's character is not very sympathetic. I still kind of enjoyed for some reason, though.

Another boring re-run of "just married". With annoying over the top efforts to be funny. A scene of 5 seconds ruined the movie (no further comment).

With comic misunderstandings more irritating than funny, the movie gets tedious over its 1:45 . Ben Stiller goes through the motions as a newlywed who falls in love with another woman on his honeymoon, but never sells either relationship and so much effort is put into making his wife unlikable that it only makes him look worse for having not put more effort into getting to know her. Pretty much every conflict in the movie is forced by either coincidence or implausible character choices.

Stupid start but ends pretty well. Not the best comedy but gave me a few good laughs. However, the story is just stupid, but they've put some nice twists in it, which made it enjoyable. Also one of the few movies in which I like Ben Stiller.

This movie has some good laughs but not enough to recommend it. I have not seen the original. This is nowhere near the Farrelly brother's best movies. There are some supporting characters in this film that just fall flat instead of being funny.

"Frantic slapstick and pointless misunderstandings finally undermine Heartbreak Kid until its multiple stabs at concocting a decisive new ending betray the awful truth that it has no idea where it's going, even while it makes funny faces." - Robert Keser

Stiller is actually quite likeable in this load of old nonsense (unless you're a woman, I suppose) which makes a pleasant change. Was it funny? Yes, I thought it was, and Malin akerman was uninhibitedly great as she got more and more outrageous, even if it didnt make much sense that Stiller would'nt have seen SOME aspect of her behaviour before. It's a shame the Farrelly Brothers dont know when to stop: I didnt know it was them until 1 moment, when it became pretty obvious, but yea, a lot of fun

The Heartbreak Kid is the handy work of the Farrelly brothers, the guys who brought us King Pin, There's Something About Mary & Shallow Hal to name just a few of the work that I have appreciated. What scenes I did laugh it felt forced & somewhat contrived as I parted with my hard earned cash to see another very disappointing film. Try's so hard to become There's Something About Mary & fails on just about every level.

I stayed up watching this and I must say despite my tiredness and my inability to comprehend what is a dumb ending, I did like this film for the most part. Solid acting, a few funny bits, a good long comedy. Interesting characters, social dilemas, definitely not a bad flick in any way. Akerman, Stiller, Monaghan, McBride and even Mencia do a good job of making this movie fun to watch. Honestly I am surprised how much I like this movie

Why watch a movie where the character fucks up constantly and learns nothing from his mistakes. The worst Farrelly movie, and I've seen Stuck On You.

Has its moments, but tends to tip right off the deep end into vulgarity. I haven't seen the original movie, but I'll bet that it doesn't resort to Charles Grodin trying to sneak back over the Mexican-American border in full hobo/mountain-man regalia; nor do I expect that Neil Simon wrote a scene where he was pissed on to relieve the sting of a jellyfish. Now that I've seen "The Heartbreak Kid", I can't tell you how much I want to see "The Heartbreak Kid".

This movie has some funny moments, but got very much off the track. One of the major plot points relies on one of those painful 'strange and unbelievably stupid misunderstanding'-jokes that are not so much funny as embarrassing to watch. I respect "The Heartbreak Kid" for it's original attempt at closure in the end, but that's about it.

Seems like at least some of the critical bile aimed at this is b/c it forgoes any of the commentary on male delusion& selfishness that was central 2 the more subtle but vastly overrated original. While it's true that it gets progressively more outrageous & silly in its 2nd half w/ more than one predictable 3's Company-like misunderstanding & ends on a "joke" that lands w/ a colossal thud, the first half has more laugh-out-loud moments than the majority of comedies have in any given year combined

The Heartbreak Kid seemed to annoy and disappointment everybody except myself. I'm guilty of enjoying this film not once but several times. Whoever brands this the worst Farrelly film must not of seen 'Stuck On You' and 'Hall Pass'. Stiller's character is a dick for the majority of the film but I found him amusing. Akerman, McBride and Stiller senior are all enjoyable too. At times it gets a little too raunchy for the faint hearted. It's not Farrelly's best but it's certainly not their worst.

A bit of a mess, frankly. It has some funny parts, if you are in the mood, but overall it doesn't work. Not recommended. It speaks volumes about how unlikeable many of the characters are to have Danny McBride as possibly the least obnoxious character...

The Farrellys seem torn between making a raunchy, gross-out comedy and a heartfelt romcom, and they don't really succeed at either. I actually liked a lot of the cast and Stiller, Ackerman, and Monaghan are all very committed to their performances. (Plus Jerry Stiller steals every scene he's in and is the movie's best character.) But, the film's more emotional scenes feel flat and that makes the slapstick-y moments all the more jarring and off-putting.

Along with Soul Plane, you'd think there's no reason for me to find this entertaining at all. Maybe it just hit me at the right time, this was the exact sort of thing I was in the mood to watch and there's a place for that. Ben Stiller being an ass for a the entire runtime, is very amusing to me. Some really funny moments throughout, I watched it sober too!

She's actually not that bad when he starts to dislike her; she has some flaws, but he's a total dork with no game & she cuts him major slack and makes his life colorful and better most of the time. However, she does become worse. But none of that makes him a catch. He's still playing the Ben Stiller is a Dorky Loser trope, which is bizarre given how cool he seems to be irl, and a talented writer. However, he's really unlikable and unsympathetic in this & it's often subtly sexist.
