It's not the worst The Hills Have Eyes 2 but it ain't good. In the first film I was rooting for the family to make it out of their predicament. This one got me rooting for the mutants to hurry up and and kill some of the worst cliched army characters. The sergeant character walks around with a big book of things I heard other movie army leaders say. The special effects are atleast ooey and gooey still.

Sure, I'm willing to believe a family caught off guard could barely fend off a bunch of retarded mutants, but you want me to believe that an armed national guard unit actually fares worse? Get bent, movie.

During the first half of The Hills Have Eyes 2, I was ready to call this a great film. After it ended, I found out it was just a mediocre one. The first half is so good, but the second half is just awful. I wasn't scared after we entered the mines, nor was I entertained. There just wasn't anything to like in the second half, and it was at this point where the no-name characters who all seemed to hate one another really got on my nerves. The second half drives it down too much to recommend.

Really....the National Guard can't fight off some mutant cave people? I would have thought that the terrible acting would have scared the mutants away at least.

This movie was funnier than it was scary. "Shitman the Barbarian" - best quote of the movie.

It's actually pretty funny! Don't get me wrong, it's extremely gorey and violent, but there's one scene where a guy comes out of a toilet!

This franchise re-vampment is wayyyyyy better than you think it'll be. Even the seond one, with all of the military stuff that would never actually happen, is a pretty sweet horror/action combo.

It's not really good, but my standards on random cannical movies are not exactly high after watching the entire Wrong Turn -series. It's got a standard plot that copies Aliens a lot, but with characters who are annoying and stupid for the most part. Unnecessarily detailed sexual violence happening here, I don't know why anyone would feel that it's necessary to show that. Good gore for the most part, though, and fortunately, a short enough runtime.

First off these are not the same mutants from the first movie, they would seem more at home in the "Wrong Turn" franchise. Second every single character in this movie is annoying and stupid. The gore is good and it's entertaining as a brainless, stupid horror film.

After a great reimagining of the movie with this movie's predecessor, the ball is dropped, bobbled into the end zone and Wes Craven and Martin Weisz get dogpiled on for a safety. What a disappointment. Everything raw and gritty about the previous effort is scrapped for a storyline that is too dissimilar to be any good at all.

Toute la brutalité du premier est remplacée par des meurtres génériques, filmés avec les pieds. On n'a aucune empathie pour eux cette fois, c'est navrant.

Some people actually rated this movie upwards of 85? The only redeeming quality was that they fucked up military people this time instead of some random-ass white-bred family. MORE uninspired than the first one, which at least had a decent marketing campaign.

I love the 2006 remake of The Hills Have Eyes and firmly believe that anyone who wasn't a fan of it would be compelled to write letters of apology to Alexandre Aja for saying bad things about his film after witnessing this debacle. The acting is amatuerish, whatever half ass commentary they are trying to make falls face flatfuck first oh and an inbred cannibal says "give me baby" just before vigorously playing at a raping a woman but mostly slamming his pelvis against a wooden table.

A group of army trainees goes on a search-and-rescue mission in the hill. With this premise it derives a bit from the previous movies, being more an action-horror with some nice suspense and amusing action. Their irrationality and incapability is well established by their inexperience shown in their first training.

Utterly pointless and simply boring. While the first was also bad, at least there was some logic to the plot. Nothing about this film made sense.

Love this movie but i can agree its badly acted for most part. Spanish midget annoying as hell, and effiminate lead also a strange choice for a soldier. The rest is great, kills are top of the genre, mutants menacing, Stroup beautiful (again casting, she as a soldier WTF) action from the start. This would be best slasher ever with better cast.

Just once I'd like to see some fresh characters in a horror film, I'm especially sick to death of the tough-girl Latina character. The Muties were the only interesting characters in this mess, particularly Chameleon and Hansel. Gore fans will be VERY disappointed -- I mean, If you're going to use Raspberry Jam for brain matter, at least try to make it not look like Raspberry Jam!

"The film's defining emblematic moment comes when a man crawls out of a Port-O-Potty covered in feces, thereby providing an approximation of the audience's experience." - Nick Schager

Though not as good as the original reboot & so disconnected from it that it may as well be a standalone effort, it does have a fun premise & a cast of characters- military personnel- who aren't often seen in horror, which makes things interesting. The effects are decent at best, the acting ranges from fine to rough, & the villains are a whole lot less interesting than before. Overall, if you're a fan of the franchise or of 2000's horror, it's a harmless entry that's worth a watch.

A splatter-fest with the usual plot-holes, cliches, and stereotypes. Perhaps the most hilarious part is the fact that they think a unit of the National Guard is mostly baby-faced white-boys. Its only value is its extremely creative ways to gross you the fuck out.

Run of the mill, monsters in a cave story. It's kind of hard to jump at a "jump scare" when the audience sees it coming. In 10 years from now, I won't remember having seen this one.

Terrible movie. Cheap rip-off of the first one. Just some kids with shiny white teeth pretending to be soldiers. I was really waiting for all the 'actors' to be killed one be one, so I could leave the cinema. I especially disliked the black guy, what a terrible actor. Stay clear from this one.

"Craven and his son Jonathan have written an entirely new screenplay, and I can only image that the desire to do so was fueled by Craven's perceived need to replace the terrible memories of his previous sequel effort. Unfortunately, he hasn't replaced terrible memories so much as created new ones."

Only gets a 10% because of Wes Craven's involvement. Otherwise, a sorry and uninteresting film (which is important for the disturbing subject matter), with loads of technical inaccuracies that detract from it's believability.
