Gory but ultimately pointless movie about a couple of college kids hounded down the highway by a sadistic killer. Completely misses the main idea of the original film, turning a clever story into just another slasher flick. Not really worth your time.

Well, I have to say I haven't watched the original yet, but in a nutshell, it was simply okay. Won't watch it a second time I guess and definitely won't recommend it to anyone...

Top badass moment? Two self-centred people refuse to help a stranded motorist in the pouring rain at night and get what's coming to them as a result. In my youth I used to hitch-hike a lot, so forgive me if I feel a bit of self-righteous admiration when Sean Bean decides to explain their selfishness to them. A quite fair and proportional response in my opinion. More generally, it's weird how you rarely ever see anyone hitch-hiking these days; funny that. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

All the things that made the original special are gone. Instead we get a role reversal..its a female hero which I am fine with but not this female in this movie. This movie Sean Bean is no Rutger and he is so horrible..he looked like a Starbucks employee just wanting you to upgrade to a large Mocha..this movie was as good as it could be..which means it sucked

Not too bad. The original is way better though.

The Hitcher isn't any fun, even if some of the lesser elements end up working fairly well. I liked the characters and I thought their relationship was quite sweet. Despite this, action is substituted for horror, good writing for cliches and stupidity, and fun for tedium. This isn't a scary film, nor is it an enjoyable one. It's not a complete waste, although Sean Bean failed to make an interesting or scary enough villain to carry the film, even if he seemed to try his best.

Sure, there were some real unbelievable and unrealistic moments, but the movie still filmed well with good action and soundtrack.

It's not an amazing horror movie, but it did keep me entertained for the most part. The music choices are not that stellar all the time, but I did really like that scene with the Trans Am and 'Closer' by NiN. It's got some thrills, action, nice cars. I wasn't a huge fan of the overly powerful villain, because it would have been creepier if he'd been less obvious about his involvement and not just slaughtering every group of people he comes across.

A mediocre thriller made only moderately better by Sean Bean's presence. Besides his performance, a very bland and forgettable movie that is neither scary nor entertaining.

While I am fully aware this is a remake, in terms of modern films this is simply a rip off of Joyride, which already was a mediocre horror film to begin with. Pass it by, or don't. Regardless you won't be talking about it after about a day or two.

I've never seen the original but this movie is so incredibly pointless that I don't even know how I stomached the 80 minutes or whatever that it lasted. The acting was terrible in every respect--even Bean who is usually pretty good--but hey, at least Sophia Bush ran around in a mini skirt nearly the entire movie. The cop chase was cool, though.

One of the worst movies I have ever seen. The two main characters could have driven away after passing the hitchhiker by, but they turn around and try to help him. These are dumb characters in a completely unnecessary remake to a film that not many even remember.

Oddly enough, it's not really worth recommending but you can't really go too wrong with it. While Bean's character seems to lack motivation for being a senseless killer, it also has many of the qualities that made teen-thrillers like "Joy Ride" so enjoyable. This one is just instantly forgettable, but as remakes go, it's one of the less distasteful.

It's all in the details, for starters I don't think the hero and heroine were smart enough to change direction even though the psycho knows where they are headed, so he's just a step behind them then he gets right next to them killing people and framing them for it. We get robbed of some decent gore more than a few times and its incredibly tedious even at eighty minutes. Sophia Bush is lucky she's pretty thats all I'm saying.

Not as good as the original, though Sean Bean made a great hitcher... but this time a silent deadly one, in stead of the Rutger Hauer version who was quiet and had the 'psychotic stare'-look on his face. I liked the fact that the female character got introduced from the beginning (and in the end became the hero, which was different than the original), but the whole "solo hero" genre, which the first was known for, disappeared :(.

By making the lone victim of the first film half of a couple, the filmmakers have missed the whole point of the original film: was any of this even happening, or was the "victim" actually the killer? Now it's just another slasher movie, and the opening with a bad CGI jackrabbit getting run over just lets you in on how terrible the movie is going to be.

Otostopçu katliamı. Tatile giden sevgililer, yağmurlu havada yolda almazlar. Otostopçu, gittiği her yerde dehşet saçar. Sean Bean'in kötü adam olduğu film, ilgiyle izletiyor.

This is so over the top ridiculous that you are guaranteed to have a decent time watching with a bunch of friends. Sean Bean apparently has no motive at all and he just goes around killing a bunch of people, which is satisfying as hell. Sophia Bush is not a badass and should not be saying one liners ever again, leave it to the pros babe. Needed more guys being ripped apart by 18 wheelers though.

No one even gives the remake the benefit of the doubt anymore. This is one of the few times where the remake actually is better than the original. Bean is stupendous and the camerawork is a huge improvement over that of the original. The only flaw is Bush, who is made tolerable only through her good looks. Because as an actress she is just terrible.

This was a hoot, Sean Bean gets pissy and basically does XTREME bullying on this derpy college couple. My favourite part of the movie is when the two college kids are in the shower the guy leaves the shower closes the curtain, stops, turns back opens the curtain and goes "I'm sorry about this!". Oh shit, water under the bridge my friend.

The most of the remakes is not a good idea. Mainly remakes of the classics. Dont makes sense to do them, is unnecessary, adds nothing. Although this is well done. But still, the original is quite better.
