Low budget French splatter flick in which a group of cops are forced to team up with a group of criminals to survive a zombie apocalypse. With a plot thinner than Kate Moss, zero character development, and a set that consists of a series of mostly empty concrete rooms, this movie seems content to live or die on its sequences of action and gore. Thankfully these are both frequent and extreme. It's a decent if unexceptional mix of The Raid: Redemption and 28 Days Later.

Très bonne surprise. Un poil superficiel, pas d'explications superflues, un peu trop de ralentis inutiles. Mais quels bons personnages, de bonnes répliques, une bonne pêche et du défouirallage en règle bien gore. Que demande le peuple ?

Very weak all-over. Terrible characters you won't give two shits about, messy and amateurish camera movement and editing which removes what little suspense there was, repetitive action in the same grimy corridor sets. Zombies are being dispatched by headbutting them. I just... I don't... God I need a drink.

For a lesser known zombie flick this is not bad at all. It's got a couple kills that are entertaining, but the plot is pretty lukewarm and the characters are--for the most part--unlikable and idiotic. If you like zombie flicks watch it, if only, because there's nothing else around these days.

A most brutal zombie film. Much along the lines of the original Doom 2, and Ultimate Doom which various members of cast and crew credit for inspiration. It shows, and any true fan of the games should watch this film. THIS is what DOOM the movie could have been.

It was nice to see a badass female until they went way too far down the 'I don't give a shit about anyone' route and into the realm of 'women are only badass if they forgo all compassion and emotion'. Still, some of the hand to hand combat scenes, not often seen in zombie flicks, make it worth a watch.

Oui, I style myself a connoisseur of les films du zombie, but even extended sequences of a ripped female cop kicking the z out of a zombie bitch (her choice of derogatory term, not mine) and a muscular giant screaming "I am a fucking Nigerian, you bastard," while repeatedly slamming a guy's head into the wall couldn't save this low budget attempt at action/horror that takes all the bad things about American movies and melds them with all the crap I hate about French ones.

The effects were good but other than that this is mediocre at best. The editing during the attacks is atrocious, the quick jarring edits that this film uses doesn't make the action more intense and exhilarating like it's suppose to, it instead just makes the action confusing and sloppy. It'd be much better if the editor didn't have a shit fit making this. I hate French horror movies, but whoops I somehow ended up watching this.

There's a couple of things I thought everyone knew by now, when it comes to zombie-encounters. First, if you see one(or many) you don't stand in awe waiting to see if someone is capable of breaking the glass separating you and them, and secondly you aim for the head, you don't riddle their torso with bullets....and don't get me started on that, let's say bitch although the c-word is more accurate, of a female lead.....pluspoints, if few, for some nice zombie-beatdowns.

Slick and gory. This movie has one of the best hand to hand, human vs. zombie fight scenes I've seen.

It had the set-up (and the effects and violence) to be an entertaining, straightforward action movie; the compact setting and the lack of concern about explaining the apocalypse could have worked out. Unfortunately, the addled editing makes it barely watchable at points, and the meaningless ending drags the whole thing down. I'm all for social commentary and cynical conclusions in my zombie films, but they have to be effective, not just thrown in.

I know script is stupid often but the opening is really promising. It doesn't start like a typical zombie movie. Also it isn't another boring head in the shot zombie movie! I mean, there are really violant fight scenes. I loved it!

Some horror films are described as clever, but The Horde is plain dumb as they come. With no time wasted on back story, characters, motivation, setting or atmosphere, various nameless angry people are thrust into a zombie onslaught. The following 70 minutes are packed with conflict, shouting, aggression, action and violence - and it's all wholly unsatisfying due to the lack of formal set-up. At a few points, the intensity is admirable, but the laziness or lack of writing really is unforgivable.

A pretty fun action zombie movie. Light on story but provides some very cool and memorable moments especially towards the end.

French (fast-moving flavour) zombie movie with mostly horrible cops forced to survive with mostly horrible (multiracial) lumpen-gangsters, and a mostly horrible veteran of French colonial Vietnam added to round out the tour of Bad Men of France - in fact, everyone including the only female character is very manly, something observed with a somewhat critical eye that doesn't in any way preclude an admiration for tough guy violence.

Lighting is a problem in this movie. Half the cool kills you cant see anything. The characters are not people you want to cheer for. And, for those two flaws this movie suffers alot..the ending is kinda decent..but all in all...watch 28 weeks later way better

La Horde is another uncompromising movie from france that's characterized by massy violence and gore compareable to frontiers, high tension or martyrs. the flimsy story is illogical and stupid, but la horde scores will some well paced action szenes, and great effects. therefore only recommendable for horror and splatter fans.

starts out run of the mill, pulls itself to slightly above your average low budget zombie flick with the creepy idea of the undead relocating corpses and an action packed ending

Not entirely dissimilar to [Rec], but there are no innocents here. The survivors who have to work together to survive are a group of corrupt cops, a gang of drug dealers, and a half-crazy Vietnam vet (and if you know when France pulled out of Vietnam, you know that he's not exactly a young man). Plays nicely off the various social problems in immigrant-heavy areas, and adds some quite convincing ultraviolence... well-made, recommended to zombie buffs, but perhaps not unmissable.
