Hammers are hit or miss, this one nudge and winked itself firmly into miss before I'd even seen the monster. Surprisingly close to re-animator in making the doc a douche.

Not another sequel in the Hammer series starring Peter Cushing as Dr. F, but rather another Frankenstein reboot. This Dr. F is smirkier, and even more amoral than Cushing's. Evidently this was an attempt to make a Frankenstein to appeal to the youth culture of the time; it's kind of interesting, but ultimately mediocre

Another take on the classic tale by Hammer but this time the twist is that Frankenstein is bright arrogant obnoxious young man. While the plot slowly moves along with the real monster only appearing the last 20m, it still is very watchable because its fun to see F constantly satirical outsmart people and act conceited. Ralph Bates is convincing as someone you love to hate. The non-ending therefor is a problem, cause after all that the movie needs a catharsis by having him get his comeuppance.

O Horror de Frankenstein estreava há 50 anos no Reino Unido. Rematerializei o double bill desse filme com Scars of Dracula hoje, ambos foram financiados para estrearem juntos há exatamente 50 anos com uma pegada para maiores de 18 anos. Apesar de muita gente não gostar desse Frankenstein do Ralph Bates e ser fiel ao do Cushing, eu gosto da psicopatia levado ao extremo aqui e acho que funciona bem. Box Obras-primas do Cinema Estúdio Hammer Volume 4.

Has its moments but is mostly dull with shite pacing.
