The Housemaid

Something like a Vietnamese Django Unchained with a tiny budget. Othereise, a messy mashup of horror tropes and movies that initially has a vaguely intriguing undertone of sociopolitical commentary until they suddenly double down and hammer it into the ground with a sudden burst of weirdly emotionless violence followed by an exposition that feels more at home in a Scooby Doo episode. Ultimately, kind of insulting how little respect the filmmakers have for their audience's intelligence.

This may have been almost watchable if it had less romantic nonsense and more actual horror.
