A story with potential. An inspired premise and a very interesting climax. Unfortunately the text is a constant tug-of-war between the overstretched bounds of believability and the contrivances designed to cover up for it. The banal character of a hostile and annoying journalist tacked on to scrutinize the main character, giving his road trip some semblance of a motive, is the most prominent of many examples. Also, some small supporting performances are notably better than the leads.
