The Hunt for Red October (1990)
A new technologically-superior Soviet nuclear sub, the Red October, is heading for the U.S. coast under the command of Captain Marko Ramius (Connery). The American government thinks Ramius is planning to attack. A lone CIA analyst (Baldwin) has a different idea: he thinks Ramius is planning to defect, but he has only a few hours to find him and prove it-because the entire Russian naval and air commands are trying to find him, too. Unless your script is written by the likes of Aaron Sorkin, making a talky Cold War thriller such as HfRO exciting is almost a fool's errand. Contains a nice scene or two but in the end, even the cool cast and the amazing McTiernan/de Bont behind the camera couldn't save this sub from sinkin' AAAA I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Despite being spectacularly poorly cast, it's a fun depiction of a chess match played across the open ocean. It's definitely not even close to matching Das Boot in suspense, and funnily it's effects are inferior as well, despite having a far higher budget and coming out nearly a decade later -- not to mention only having to film a fraction of the scenes. Still, it's a fairly smart thriller that's end-to-end enjoyable.

Oyunculuklar çok iyi cgi lar çok kotu. Tim Curry özellikle muhteşem. Bu ünlüler geçidi castiyla tiyatrosu çok etkileyici olurdu.
