Characters make absolutely no sense and feel is though their decisions are based solely on what will keep the film going. Some of the acting is atrocious. The entire story is flawed; the rules seem to change, the whole existence of the experiment itself makes no sense. Poor film.

Bad Japanese movies are usually because of terrible acting and or non-sensical plot. This is the former. Premise is interesting enough, if somewhat inconsistent, but it's the terrible performances of the cast that brings this down A LOT. even the likes of Fujiwara, who is known for his over-expressive acting over does it. A shame, coz it could have been an "adult" Battle Royale.

Top badass moment? Sawako (the housewife from Setagaya with five kids who runs a take-away, fact fans) is happily sitting in bed, reading a book before going to sleep. Not unusual, but the fact there’re murders going on all around and her room doesn’t have a lock on its door doesn’t seem to bother her in the least. That’s pretty cool. Shame she gets killed a few minutes later by a beautiful woman wielding a nail gun. I guess shit happens. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

No matter what genre... Asian films are just boring.
