The Intervention

Love the cast, and the script has some good moments, but overall it feels a little ... done.

This was enjoyable and somewhat interesting. It seems like there were more characters, more couples, than needed for the one twist provided in the story. I read this movie compared to The Big Chill, but The Big Chill has more themes and more depth.

don't you just love getting advice on how to handle your life by people who obviously can't handle their own? sign up for a cleasing in the house of hypocrites, featuring 4 pairs of stereotypes at different stages in life pitted against each other! they'll fight it out with booze, profound dialogues and sexual ambiguity, and, as always, the neglectful asshole gets the girl while the understanding supporter gets to fuck off. thanks for the lesson, clea duvall. groundbreaking material.
