The Kid Detective

That was fun. Depressing but fun.

Similar in style and content to 'Bored to Death, a beloved TV show of mine, and I am sure that Jonathan Ames (the creator of 'Bored to Death' and author of the books it was based on as well the novella that was the basis for Lyn Ramsay's 'You Were Never Really Here') would appreciate the dark ending to Morgan's film. It's likely that most filmmakers would avoid mixing humour with the tale of a homicidal/suicidal paedophile and a man-child detective in existential crisis.

really nice to see adam brody in a movie- feels like forever

This movie's tone took me by surprise even though I watched a part of its trailer. For a dark comedy it wasn't very funny but the plot was cleverly thought through which concluded on a unexpected twist. I was really glad to know that Adam Brody was still around, almost 15 years since I last watched him in anything really. And I was not disappointed.
