There really wasn't as much JUICY DETAILS as I wanted going into a movie about Robert Evans by Robert Evans, but at least we got to listen to Robert Evans narrate about Robert Evans. Robert Evans.

Not nearly as engaging and interesting as the book but still a fun time.

This is the side of Hollywood that we all admire. Not much left of it today, though.

Evans's story is one of the most entertaining in Hollywood, and the documentary does a pretty good job of transmitting that.

Listen to Robert Evans narrate bits of his life-story while images and film clips flash on screen. The thing is, Evans has one of the greatest stories in Hollywood and he's awesome to listen to. If you haven't read the book, you really should. Evans tells Warren Beatty that he looks like he has a vagina.

How do you make just an okay documentary about a character like Robert Evans? Wasted potential.

Interesting presentation, felt it could have been a lot more meaty though.

Actually quite entertaining autobio. Not that successful as a document, but Evan's tell-all was time after time hilarious. The book might be highly interesting to check.

The story carries this, the film treatment is relatively weak in comparison.

Great doc by Morgen made even better by Dustin Hoffman as Evans during the end credits.

An intruiging documentary whose subject isn't quite interesting enough to make you stand up and applaud. I love it when Hollywood turns lenses on itself though.

A fascinating behind-the-scenes peek at the effect of one producer's life on Hollywood. He's a true character, and one can even overlook the size of the ego given his accomplishments.

An entertaining, if self-serving, documentary of Robert Evans, who produced a string of hits in the late 60s and early 70s. Evans had little artistic ability, but his instincts were good for a while there, and his loyalty to his directors was impressive.

Somewhat interesting. I like the unusual style of the documentary, the way still photos are used in that odd but effective multi-plane effect. But I was expecting the subject matter to be a bit more scandalous.

Robert Evans is the voice of the dregs of Hollywood. Only he could narrate a movie about how great he is, and works to the degree of hilarity.

Sleek and hip - but Evans (somehow) remains an enigma. The book is a fuller, richer and funnier experience.

I've seen tons of movies and I still only have a vague idea of what a producer does. Has some great stories like telling Coppola to make The Godfather longer and therefore a better film, all the Chinatown parts, and convincing Mia Farrow to not leave Rosemary's Baby because Sinatra wanted her in one of his movies. Rarely touches on all of Evans' marriages besides Ali McGraw which was disappointing. Felt like it should've been more grimey but it was still a good watch

It was a nice story, but it would've been nicer if it didn't feel like we were looking at Robert Evans' photo album for 90 minutes.

Entertaining documentary. Obviously the book will have more meat to it than this 90 minute narrated documentary

Dull and I didn't like the look of the film. Over use of still photos. Having read the book this was disappointing.

Filmed audiobook whose ambitious style doesn't always come off. It's also too short & thin for what it's trying to do (heh). The conceit precludes interviews, fine, but also seems to prevent a full realization of itself: you get the sense the filmmakers suspected they were already testing your patience. Hard to call it self-serving, as Evans comes off as little more than a lucky boob--I know I know, but I believe that on balance he's more right than wrong in what he claims credit for in the book
