Well worn by years of gangland brutality, detective Eddie Argo prides himself on playing by the book. However, loyalties wane as he and his new rookie partner, Helen, find themselves entangled in a string of violent and horrific killings that are targeting a notorious local gang, forcing Argo to revisit a case he would rather forget.

Very decent and bordering on really good film that has a lot of style going for it. Loaded with some fairly well known and appreciated actors doing admirable work. Probably the weak point is the script as it seems too familiar, the gore in the film is also well done for the horror fans.

An alright thriller that tries to situate itself somewhere between Seven and Saw but doesn't really succeed, lacking the menace of the former and the philosophical slant of the latter. The twist at the end, if that's what it was, could be seen a mile off. The atmosphere serviceably grim, and Tom Hardy is good, albeit underused.

This starts out as an engaging chase for a brutal serial killer. But like a bad onion, peeling back each layer exposes more of the rotten core. Performances were very good, except the scientist. A good tense chase scene in the first half. The lead cop is hiding something big. The writers and director stretch the bounds of believability to its breaking point. There was torture, a lot of dark sets and then the ridiculously improbable and unsatisfying conclusion.
