Nonsensical mess populated by some of the worst acting I've ever seen. You know how those old beat'em-ups would end fights with cameo pictures of the combatants trading one-line insults? Those screens displayed more emotion and better dialogue than the characters in this movie. No amount of camera tilt (and half the movie is filmed at a crazy angle) can inject excitement into it. Despite the name there's hardly any fighting, and what little there is is badly filmed and poorly choreographed.

When a cult/niche video game series is adapted into a movie on the budget of a telefilm, you're not going to expect something that sets the world on fire. As a huge fan of the games, I knew this was going to be terrible and I was not disappointed there! The constant Dutch angles, ridiculous costume designs, obvious plot holes, cheap locations and incredibly unnatural acting are great for a few laughs early on, but then when all this stuff doesn't stop it's hard to keep laughing... or watching

I was telling myself it couldn't be that bad. It starts out cheap but intriguing, but then, yes, it does get bad. The acting from many sucks, the dialog is shit. There is zero stake, no reason to get into it. It's only a bunch of clowns with their magical VR mortal kombat. You might care for a few at first but then you just stop giving a damn halfway through. The "main" dude could be a janitor for all I care. Some of the fights are alright, mostly involving Ray Parks, but the rest sucks

Absolutely horrible on all fronts, but really... from a low budget movie based on a somewhat niche fighter what did you expect? For what it's worth, it can be pretty entertaining trying to find all the things terrible with this piece especially if you're a fan of the games like I am. Ray Park pulls off some amazingly campy moments which never fail to amuse.

While even some of the worst videogame (and general) adaptations from the 1990s had charm or a sense of silly weirdness to them, nothing can be defended in most of the adaptations made after 2000, this one in particular being the most pointless waste of money possible, completely empty, boring and for one or two interesting ideas having many more generic and atrocious ones. It suffocates its viewer in pointless strands of plot and then crushes one's head with its tedium. Just avoid.

A shitty film with an iffy story, a bad guy who in no way should be a bad guy, a CIA guy who in no way should be a CIA guy and rambling confusing dialogue about passages to the dimensional door? A sword and a necklace? Urojin? Ball of snakes? What? I dunno something like that. One small reprieve - sexy leather clad lesbian assassins
