While The King's Man shares some of the style & dialogue of the previous films, this prequel-cum-origin-story takes a more serious tone. More time is spent on character moments, less on action; though still present with the signature humour. The cast is impressive, but Ifans & Hollander are my personal favourites. A questionable theme on abandoning pacifism & the WW1 front is still glorified despite being told otherwise. Overall a fun film with a lot of heart. The Scots don't come off great.

Not sure why they decided to be so serious in this one. I loved it when it didn’t take itself seriously (everything with Rasputin and Hollander playing the three monarchs). It got really bogged down in the first 45 minutes and anytime the “unknown” villain was (or I guess wasn’t) shown. The film’s tone is also all over the place because it’s not very focused on any one thing.

Inconsistent. Loved the historical and movie references, but it really felt like 3 different films jammed into one, without much connection to the spy agency. The villain was telegraphed early and the most interesting characters died too soon. I have trouble with movies that put people who fight against class systems as the mustache-twirling villain, while we're supposed to root for the aristocratic noblesse oblige to care for regular folk. Fav scene: Ra-ra Rasputin, lover of the British teen.

What a wild trilogy. The King's Man is so dour and serious - it is impossible to make WWI funny, many have tried, just look at Paths of Glory. It's like if Austin Powers 3 was not funny errr wait

A really baffling combination of tones and concepts delivered, even more confusingly, almost completely straight. We have pieces of 1917 and Wonder Woman sharing time with a feud between Downton Abbey and an English farce alongside an Indiana Jones period mockup that ignores the brash action comedy of the Kingsman predecessors and produces instead a movie where nobody even comments on Gemma Arterton getting covered in cheese. A mess of wildly disparate parts.

There's still some fun to be had, but there's just too much dragging this down. The weird secret villain thing was too cartoony, and then other times it was too serious. I've always been fascinated by Rasputin, so it was kind of fun seeing him depicted, but his character didn't land as well as I would have liked.

Matthew Vaughn still shoots some pretty cool fight sequences, but beyond that it’s messy. Very episodic, with a bukkake of plot two hours struggle to contain. Almost would have worked better as a 6 hourlong episode miniseries for TV without changing any story details. The first Wonder Woman more deftly fused WW1 with the fantastical.

Made with unabashed historical poor taste, it’s saved somewhat by its cast and style; who at least make things entertaining if not overly palatable.

Where the two first films in the series had a crude but energetically silly charm to them, this one just feels stilted, unfocused and (with the exception of a few impressive scenes) surprisingly restrained visually.

SPOILER ALERT: Dad: "Don't go to war." Son: "I know how horrible it is. I saw mom gunned down." The whole movie revolves around the dad trying to protect his son and the son doing whatever he wants for whatever reason he has (movie doesn't really tell me or convince me). At the end, the son goes to war. He instant regrets it (serious? After all the warnings? All the discussions?) and then dies in the lamest way possible. It's all the movie really has to offer. A dumb plot. A dumb son.

Generally slow first act, bizarrely moral anti-war second act considering the tone and graphic violence of the first two films, but the third act returns to more familiar ground even if the main Villain doesn't really work. The best part of 'The King's Man' is by far an unrecognisable Rhys Ifans playing Rasputin with OTT relish and his fight scene is the true highlight here.

Kingsman films are about aversion to good taste, but ever since the first it's like they're fighting for some other kind of relevancy and just can't find it. Rasputin is MVP: in a better reality we'd be arguing about whether Rhys' commitment to rug-munching Fiennes' flesh wound before Ra-Ra-Barynya fighting to the death outshines Plemons' reticent, burdened subtleties in the Best Supporting Actor category, but I digress. Once he's dispatched, the movie literally loses focus and never recovers.

Dubious comic book franchise meets a WWI history subreddit. Fiennes' commitment is more than the film deserves; Ifans is a hoot as a slovenly, sexual, scenery-chewing Rasputin.

I quite enjoyed this movie despite it taking many liberties with the actual true events. It was entertaining throughout. It touches on so many of the painful truths about war, but also provides wonderful presentations of honor, perseverance and loyalty. There is also a wonderful sense of humor and some lighthearted fun. Ralph Fiennes was marvelous. Good acting. Good music. Great sets. I can happily recommend it.

I can excuse the xenophobic, royalist, imperialistic, reductionist, nationalist, anti-historical drivel if there is even a hint of satire to be gleamed from the material, but The King's Man treats all this way too seriously to lead the viewer to think anything other than that this is actually just what the filmmakers worldview is.

A surprisingly focused war/adventure/drama that would be even better without the forced connection to The Kingsman universe. The seriousness of it all only makes the Rasputin scene even weirder …

I loathe this movie for ruining the great ideas it actually has. Rasputin was the only thing worth watching in this movie and he isn't as important as the trailers make him out to be.

I don't think anyone ever asked for a Kingsmen movie universe, but here we are. It could've been worse to be fair, the tone kept shifting and the morality is terrible if you think about it too hard, but it's still a decent movie if you're into silly blockbusters. The post-credit scene is hilarious, great way to take you out of the seriousness of the ending.

Tom Hollander as King George is quite amusing. There are numerous cheesy foreign accents featured, as course and decently entertaining fight/battle scenes. Rasputin had a slightl look of Alice Cooper about him I thought. It does have some war related bloody scenes, with some scenes taking place in what looks like the trenches of WWI, so its not for the extremely squeamish. Other settings are quite lavish, like a large castle/mansion place. There's some pretty decent cinematography. Good stuff.

I think there's some decent stuff here, but it falls a notch shorter than the other KIngsman movies for me. I do like the historical angle, and the origins of the order, and there are some story moments that work really effectively, but I think the movie doesn't quite earn its length. The ending scene is fantastic though.

The more serious approach is interesting, but makes the comedic scenes (especially Rasputin) feel jarring and out of place, even if they would’ve been normal in the previous two. Vaughns directing is still great, with the action and war scenes being thoroughly enjoyable. Fiennes makes for a good action lead, but while I like Harris Dickinson, I didn't like his character Conrad that much. Some great individual scenes, but a mixed bag overall.

The poor-taste romp through First World War history is 'not ideal'. However, I have warmed a little to this franchise, especially the comedic balletic set-piece fights that are done so expertly. Who knew that the innovative 'swords-eye-camera-view' would be so compelling.

Far more serious and influenced by historical events. It tries to tie them into the story, but can feel confusing and messy. The stylistic direction still flourishes in the action sequences and panning shots. The new set of characters in this prequel include standouts such as Rasputin acting crazy, and Oxford as dad who ends up bringing genuine strength and emotion to the spy role. If one thing is missing, it’s the charm and silliness. I do appreciate them trying something different though.

Kralın Adamları yeni devam filmi. Bu sefer 1.Dünya Savaşı etrafında geçiyor. Açılış sahnesinin etkisiyle izlediğimiz film, kötü karakterlerin büyüsüyle etkilemiş. Aksiyonu en az olan film. 1.Dünya savaşından dolaylı ama sofistike olanı seçmiş. Hadi canım sende olmaz ki böyle sahneler fazla. Askerlik torpilini çok iyi anlatılmış. I like Matthew Vaughn, but outside of a few amazing action scenes, I could never really warm up to the "tasteless James Bond" vibe of the first Kingman film. This film's crazed "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" meets that awful Ralph Fiennes "Avengers" film meets "1917" with a wacky action finale is more my speed. I'm not sure I'd defend it as a good film, but it entertained me during the moments I wasn't confused by it.

Does everything a prequal should: build upon the previous films while also adhering to the continuity. The story drags a lot, especially early on, but it does build to some very effective and satisfying development in the climax. Right as I was saying to myself "this is way too predictable" things took a drastic turn that I salute the movie for being willing to take. Some moments feel too dull, but the ones that shine really do outshine them, making this a very worthy prequel for this franchise.

While the story is more interesting than that of the other two movies, that's about where the good ends. Gone is the tongue-in-cheek humor, the fun soundtrack, and the surreal camera work during fight scenes. Instead, we are left with a really, really, really slow-to-start story (at the mid-movie mark I was hoping this was the end, but no such luck). In addition, it seems to struggle between wanting to be a dark alt-history piece and a forced comedy. In the process it fails at both.
