The Kreutzer Sonata

Obviously a low-budget movie made with low-tech equipment, but that's not really the problem. The story is too simplistic and the characters not developed. The acting is quite inconsistent, flitting randomly between feeling naturalistic and forced. The director seems to want to keep his distance and let the true essence of the material shine through, but this is a mistake. He should have gotten more involved and made some bolder choices. Quite poor editing also, for a feature film.
