The Land That Time Forgot

Hi, I'm actor Doug McClure, you may remember me from such films as The Boatjacking of Supership 79 and Hydro: the Man With the Hydraulic Arms. Enjoyable even without the MST3K treatment, but would be poison without Doug McClure ham.

Hello. I'm Doug McClure. You might remember me from such television specials as, "Don't Ask Me, Ask God" and "The Garry Shandling Show: 25th Anniversary Special". But I tell you what you won't remember: "The Land That Time Forgot". Unlike what I hear from my probation officer, some mistakes really can be forgotten. Especially after 5-to-10 and, if I may say so, rather excellent behavior.

Good ol' campy Saturday afternoon fun!

Time is a wise, wise entity. Would that the film makers had shown the same judgment.

Maybe this works better as a novel, but the characters are boring and the story doesn't even really go anywhere thematically. You can only watch so much back-and-forth submarine drama before it gets stale. Dinosaurs were cute, though.

It's weird. There are clearly *ideas* in this movie, but it does absolutely nothing with them. I can only assume they were taken from the original book, and the producers just got a list of them to execute as lazily as possible.

U-boats and dinosaurs - what's not to like? It pushes the theory of evolution, that's what. Otherwise, good dumb fun.

I wish it had been forgotten. Poor mix of stop go animation with foam rubber models ... and that's just the actors. Poor story and not the best of its kind. Give it a miss.

Probably the first movie I ever saw (I would have been around 5 years old), and haven't seen it since. So, based on my experience at the time, I think I thought it was a little below average. I liked the dinosaurs.

Sub par adventure story. It's best if you turn your brain off.

Submarine stuff is unbearable, but the dinosaur land stuff is... Slightly less unbearable

Fun but stupid action flick. It actually loses steam when they leave the sub and plummets when the natives show up. Just outta curiosity, was Doug McClure ever considered hot?

If this film had come out now, I probably wouldn't give it such a high rating. But nostalgia is winning me over.
