The Last Broadcast

More like The Worst Broadcast. That barely beat out: If that was The Last Broadcast, I'd hate to see the first one! We can all agree though that I should've gone with: More like The Last Boredcast. I'm still learning.

Precedes "Blair Witch" as perhaps the first found-footage horror film/faux-doc by one year and certainly the very first 'desktop feature film' (digitally shot, edited, screened)....Screw it, this is just bad. Awful! Tedious and incredibly annoying. Especially the narrator. A complete waste of anyone's time. Stay far away!

Predates The Blair Witch Project by one year and doesn't get half the credit it deserves in that regard. The performances and presentation are commendably believable, more so than many found footage and mockumentary offerings, but all of the build up doesn't lead to anything worthwhile, unfortunately. The ending sucks and abandons the whole conceit, nearly completely overriding all of the charm and goodwill it has up until that point

I am a fan of found footage type of films, and The Last Broadcast initially flipped all the right switches. The low budget presentation worked in its favor and I was interested to see where it was going. Sure, there wasn't a lot of scary stuff, but that was surely coming, right? But then... oh boy... the final reveal completely sabotages the movie, breaks the previously established presentation format and completely ruins the experience. Shame. There really was a solid idea here.

This movie honestly could have been the the true found footage film to rival even The Blair Witch Project. But it did the exact opposite. This film is not worth the watch or this review. I find this to be the low spot of generations of cinema.

Probably the first found footage film, but seniority does not mean quality. Undoubtedly the worst ending I've ever seen in a movie. It's just a giant turd. Stay away.

"Blair Witch" is often regarded as the film that kickstarted the whole "faux-documentary" thing, when in actual fact it was "The Last Broadcast", which came a year before. Not entirely sure why nobody ever remembers this film, but it could quite possibly be the fact that "Blair Witch" is a far superior film and this was awful. For the most part it's actually quite interesting and tense...then the finale happens. Possibly one of the worst endings I've ever seen, completely ruined the film.

Reminiscent of The Blair Witch Project, but not as good

While it does some interesting things, these things can't save this from being an awful, terribly made movie. The ending is very odd as it is both the best and worst thing about this movie.

Soild, until the last ten minutes.

Aesthetically appreciative (crappy video quality) which unfortunately the storyline, shit twist, 2D characters and acting have also gone down to follow. Atmosphere is aptly eerie, and lives up to its title of "first desktop film", in its dark-side-of-the-90's vibe. Suprisingly doesn't follow any clichés, but not a cult classic.

the ending is just terri-bad

The only thing worse than the film itself is the unbearable and completely non warranted smugness of the film makers. Fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck youuuuuuu (1/5)

Not nearly as engaging as The Blair Witch Project but, then again, it is unfair to compare it to the magnum opus of found footage/mockumentary horror. I had fun with it overall, even though the pacing could've used some work. It's cute.
