SPOILERZ: Considering that when the film started, the crew only had 19 hours left on Mars, and that a sidereal day on Mars lasts 24 hours 37 minutes and 22 seconds (a solar day lasting 24 hours 39 minutes and 35 seconds), a more appropriate title would have been "Zombiez on Marz II: Revenge of the Zombiez on Marz" (tm). Solid performances by all cast members except Ice Cube...who, thankfully, was not in the movie.

Liev Schreiber reprises the familiar Vincent Price/Charlton Heston/Will Smith role as the last man left in an undead world. The twist being this time it's on Mars. Some called it cheap and hokey, I call it "Liev The Right One In" or "I Am Schreiber".

If you make a zombie movie in space, why not make it funny or terrifying? This was just really booooring.

Liev it to Schreiber to be the last man standing. On Mars.

I thoroughly enjoyed its early moments: normally these Space Cowboys are either highfalutin engineering theoreticians or gruff blue-collar oil riggers, but here they're practically white collar, with all the passive-aggression and tired side-eyes one would expect from overworked middle managers. Perhaps related - also notable for a meditative moment on (zombie) consciousness rarely explored in its fatigued genre. The cinematography invoked early survival horror in the best way. Underrated.

Built on shoddy ground (the surface of Mars is bad for real estate) but if you can look past a few silly developments it's rather decent but unfortunately never surprising zombies-in-space stuff.

it's one of those movies, that should've been longer. when it's slow paced and subtle, it's really good, even hit the right notes emotionally. however, there's another side, when rushed editing and confusing camerawork completely pull you out. the zombie-things seem rather tacked on, a virus that kills slowly but inevitably would've suffised to get the survival drama going, exploring some psychological depths while at it. so yet again: not a waste of time, but rather one of potential.

No more zombies. Please... no more zombies. Sometimes I have a strong feeling to be a zombie and eat the flesh out from the writers of zombie films.

A tad tedious. A bit like a self-contained pilot for some kind of space X-Files spinoff, but not as exciting as that sounds. I can't say I hated it, but it's a pretty forgettable and uninspiring flick.

I'll level the same complaint against this as sunshine - you can't just take an interesting space location and turn it into a slasher/zombie movie. Sunshine was more fun to look at but this has Liev Schreiber.

Without the zombies it might have been a decent film. It just doesn't have anything new to add to the genre. The unconventionally intelligent zombies make the film unrealistic and the mood is lost the instant they first appear.

Better than its reputation, but it never musters the nerve to step out of the shadow of its influences.

Not the worst film of this kind that I've ever seen. They found a pretty good cast but the story loses it with the speed that "things" happen. I want to think that given the way these things happen that when they build space stations on Mars or the Moon or where ever that they'll build a safe room with no big glass windows and loaded with weapons and such. Stiil, worth a look I think.

While there is nothing special about this film, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The script follows a 'show, don't tell' pattern that allows a bit of play to the imagination. Plus, Olivia Williams!

What a tired story. I wouldn't mind seeing it in cheesy 80s style with slimy gore, colorful neon light and synth soundtrack but with modern direction it just doesn't work. Technically there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, but there's not even a single exciting scene in a whole film. In few months I probably won't remember anything about it.

Horror movie logic seems even sillier when they're astronauts, I stuck with it hoping for some kind of payoff that never came.

Surprisingly good cast and special effects but a strictly by the book zombies in space flick. Ultimately, it's kinda pointless.

It's a movie about zombies in space and still couldn't meet up my expectations. Write a character? Nah, let's just have some people turn into zombies for no reason and the movie'll surely sort itself out.

Will Mars become one day the redneck planet? This film answers yes with pleasure... Now you understand my bias. I strongly dislike zombie themes. For a zombie movie, this was ok. With less action, more contemplation and slow scenes creating the effect of alienation, one could re-cut it and make it feel like Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles. But that would be a different movie...
