It could be subtitled "Ashley Bell Wanders Around for a Couple Hours Looking at Scary Things." Bland and unimaginative, and it refuses to make any good use of its New Orleans locale. Decidedly minor league stuff, not worth anyone's time. And I quite liked its predecessor...

This movie ADDED writers (including the new director) and the writing got explicitly WORSE. That to me is unforgivable. It was mildly cool to see the continuation of the Nell character, but forget that, 'cuz costume paraaade! This doesn't have the same quality that the first film had. Even if it wasn't a sequel, I don't think it's a particularly good horror movie on its own. It doesn't build much tension and it isn't overly scary. The lore is only iffy. The last half-hour is almost hilarious.

A sad disappointment compared to the first film. I did like that they moved away from the found footage documentary style and ditched the shaky camera footage. I also still really like Ashley Bell in the lead. The movie just didn't go anywhere interesting like the last one did. I'm not sure if they are making this into a trilogy, I hope they do so I can at least have the satisfaction of a proper ending to this story. Pretty bad writing and directing. Very forgettable.

If your idea of horror is a period of quiet mumbling followed by LOUD NOISES this is the film for you. If you want a good story, script or atmosphere there's none here.

Had any lingering questions after watching the original? Great! ...Wait, you're looking for some answers here, in the sequel? Haha, no, we're just going to dick around for 75 minutes, throw in one exorcism to justify the title and throw the viewer a bone in the form of a lazy jumpscare every 8 minutes or so. See you in part 3!

This sequel shits on the original in almost every way. Check that. Every way.

This is a very bland movie that seems to steal more from the average episode of Supernatural than from the first Last Exorcism film. There was some good acting sprinkled throughout the movie.

All of the good things about the first film have all been dropped. Where is the brother? What happened to the reverend? Lots of questions but none of these are answered which is what I was hoping the sequel was made for. There is also an opening sequence which appears to have nothing to do with the rest of the movie. There is no real story progression only development in the main character and its almost as if the first film didn't exist. This is a failure and did not make me yearn for a Part 3.

Not seen the first but there'a a 'previously on..' catchup and y'know, exorcism movies... It goes through a lot of the tropes of ex movies whilst -nonsensically given that it's a sequel and that catchup confirmed she is- trying to play the 'all in the mind' game. Whilst it's all competently done I just didn't understand why they'd bothered until the big, noisy ending. Wasn't worth it.

That's because muddled theology and messy spirituality carry with them far bigger problems than just lame, chill-free moviemaking. One more reason among many to pray that, unlike the last go-round, this is the franchise's last exorcism. (pluggedin.com)

A remake that tried to be different. You have to wait a bit for things to get going and things aren't as gnarly as the first outing.

Average exorcism movie until the laughable ending, a la Cabin in the Woods.

Usually when people like the first installment and hate the second one, for me it is the opposite. The same here. Way better than the first part and I LOVE handheld films, found footage, etc.

I didn't think THE LAST EXORCISM was as good as some said, and I don't think its sequel is as bad as some say. That's not to say it's GOOD, but it's more forgettably mediocre than anything else. Abandoning the found-footage angle of the first, it's a pretty average tale of possession. Predictable, and with little narrative traction, genuine scares are few (if any), and there's a tiresome reliance on jump-scares. Still, until the rather stupid ending, it trundles along in its vaguely racist way.

I quite liked the first Last Exorcism. It was compelling and entertaining. The Last Exorcism Part II is not compelling or entertaining. It is stupid, lazy and deriviative, yes, but it's also utterly mind-numbing, and that's a hell of a feat for an exorcism movie. Don't bother, under any circumstances.

a unnecessary horror sequel that neither creative nor inventive.the only thing good about this movie is Ashley Bell acting, but unfortunately her talent was overshadow by terrible plot. there is no element of surprise that usually comes with the genre, only a handful of psychological thiller that almost reach the level of pretentious.unless you're a big fan of the first one and care about Ashely Bell brilliant acting, stay far away from this so-called last exorcism.

Never saw the first one and it doesn't really matter. This was pretty lame.
