Edward G Robinson just nails that spot of pure manic misery perfectly. Even if the movie has nothing else to really offer you can’t help but get captivated

On one hand it's got all the gangster clichés around. On the other it touches on a strong father/son bond within the madness. Not to mention full of great Edward G. Robinson moments. We've seen it before though but he knows the tough guy act! Just watch him go crazy in the prison visiting room! And his special fatherly advice! He truly is a insane duck in this one!
