The Last Horror Movie? More like, "Man Bites Dog in Britain!" Yeah, I know, that joke was lame, but so is this film. I appreciate the idea, but everything after Man Bites Dog that tries this just seems like an obvious rip off.

There’s a very clever conceit here of confronting the audience over what it is they want to see to be entertained but it’s honestly marketed at the wrong audience. We’re horror fans to begin with, aren’t we? We subject ourselves to Ghoulies sequels for God’s sakes.

Vérité serial killer, done before and better. The leads enjoyment of the role seemed to mix with the characters for his crimes, didn't gel with the claims of psychopathy.

Top badass moment? The view across the Westway, a road I frequently drive along or pass by train, that's forever linked to the Clash. Saw That Petrol Emotion play Bay 63 (now called Subterania), a venue right underneath it, in September 1986. Even today, this road still epitomises the concrete nightmare that was 60s architecture. But yes, this film. It was fine, a bit too humorous to be truly scary, but it has its moments. Also, what's a video rental store? No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.
