The Leader, His Driver and the Driver's Wife

Broomfield set off to make a doc about a neo-nazi and largely failed and so turned this into a meta doc about the process. The result is a mess where he comes off as so supremely incompetent in dealing with his subject that sometimes I wondered if he was doing it on purpose. He's bad at working with even the more amenable driver and his wife. So my take away is: there are racists in South Africa, their leader was an asshole and Broomfield is a bad documentarian.

At times funny, at times sort of disturbing, and occaisionally sad. I saw Louis Theroux later do an interview with this same guy, and I think Louis Theroux does this kind of personal profile thing better. This is still pretty good though.
