This is only the second film I've seen helmed by the director of Return of the Jedi which surprises me for some reason. It features a Sam Elliot butt double and other things I don't know ways to feel about.

I know I've seen this film, and not long ago either, but I remember next to nothing about it. I'm pretty sure Katharine Ross didn't wear a bra at any point, I think Sam Elliott got nekkid and maybe... (I want to say) cut himself or something and I'm positive that there was no hand dangling from a cat's head, but that's pretty much it. A timeless masterpiece.

This starts quite promisingly, and has a few tense moments as the somewhat weird and slightly ludicrous story unfolds. Fans of Sam Elliot will like this - he gets plenty of screen time in a more subtly-mustachioed role than we might be used to. Charles Gray pops up in his usual sinister/posh role, and Roger Daltrey has a wonderfully overacted demise. It's pretty well made, and looks good, but I was left with the impression that it was just a bit too daft to fulfil its potential.

Quite wooden 70's studio horror film which is not as classy as Omen nor as outrageous as e.g. The Sentinel. It's closer to a British lower-tier Hammer production with it's satanic tones and it IS written by Jimmy Sangster who worked on many of Hammer's better efforts. This one doesn't provide any real scares and fails to set up a sinister atmosphere. It's all been done and seen in better films, and becomes unintentionally funny. It's still fun to see a young Sam Elliott in a film like this.

This had its moments but ultimately it was a letdown.

Starts well but gets real silly midway and downhill from there on.
