So... what happened here? The breezy, exciting fun of the first movie has been replaced with tedious scenes of marital discord, goofy kid hijinks, and a plot so by-the-numbers you could set your watch by it. A disappointing snoozer.

Does what bad sequels do best: completely forget what made the characters in the first movie great. Does what bad action movies do best: throw a freaking kid into it, probably so young people can 'relate' to it. Plus, it's poorly choreographed, shot and staged; maybe this is why Campbell has never directed a sequel to his Bond films?... My wife still thinks this is the worst movie we've seen together, and we've seen 'Godsend'.

So we still have lots of good handmade action, humor , love and romance, and there is this vexatious kiddie-problem. No, not Adrian Alonso's performance, but the fact that this movie is rated PG - which means the gorgeous Catherine Zeta-Jones is allowed to look beautiful but not to be really sexy, and - even worse - it means there is not more than three drops of blood on the screen, ever. Including the swordfights.

A relentlessly mediocre and uninspired film that is only passably entertaining. It begins with a great action scene, but it goes downhill from there.
