The Legend

Pretty typical early 90's Jet Li action flick, with a solid mix of skilled wushu and insane wire work. Entertaining but doesn't do much to stand out from the crowd of similar films Li made around this time.

Pretty good genre fare, but the way kung fu evolved in the 90s can be a little overbearing for me. Jet Li is certainly impressive, but his style and charisma are flavourless, and it just gets boring.

This Kung Fool stuff just doesn't do much for me. Jackie Chan can put this stuff across sometimes just by sheer force of charisma, but Jet LI is no Jackie Chan

This movie starts out with an angry Chinese tearing off a human face, puncturing another's skin with his own elbow and burning a doll alive.. Maybe that was a man, who knows! It happened really fast, but was kind of awesome.. Only 50 minutes later and we learn who he is, after seeing Jet Li run fast enough to make his ponytail straight and two women beat each other in love.. Fun movie, mainly when they kung-fu one another or joke about a loved one's death only moments after the event transpired

This is a great action film. Jet Li is fantastic in the lead role and the supporting cast also does a good job here. The film is very entertaining and I highly recommend it.

Nice Movie

it's decently fun for genre fans. jet li always put on a good show in the 90s, and it has some pretty hilarious subplots in the first half. the first fight with li vs the main villain was much more memorable than the climactic battle. still pretty good fights all the way through, except that fights involving swords were surprisingly sub-par and looked more like children swatting at each other & putting blades between arms & ribs to indicate impalement than trained professionals making a movie.
