The Lizard

Peyman Ghassemkhani is one of the best writers of this decade in Iran . No one in Iran has his experience in writing comedies . it's wonderful that each movie he wrote was successful in cinemas . I think this movie (The Lizard) is the best . of course this movie can satisfy the Iranian viewers but for the non-Iranian viewers I'm not sure because Ghassemkhani's scripts is based on funny dialogues and has cultural and religious themes , so the non-Iranians can't communicate .

Unfortunately I think some of this is lost in translation for me but it was an enjoyable watch nonetheless.

It has a very... persian sense of humour. Not a sense of humour that gots lost in translation, by no means, there is some great dialogue in this, but a style of humour that is dry and takes some getting used to.

mahkum, cezaevi, kacis, imam, sahte imam

The Iranian copy of "we're no angels" but better because it touches stuff that are forbidden to talk or make jokes about, although common knowledge.
