I can't hate Hilliary Duff for doing this, I can't even hate Disney for this, the only people I can hate are the 13 year old girls this movie is targeted at.

Really not as bad as the reviews make it out to be; Lizzie McGuire is an endearing character who, though cliche, offers a lot for young girls to look up to. This movie demonstrates that well, proving her character to be loyal and honest. There's nothing special about this movie in any way, but it is at the very least entertaining and fun to watch. Certainly, Lizzie McGuire The Movie caters to a specific audience, but it can transcend and be interesting otherwise.

This movie ditches most of the series's charm with a very weak plot and some violations of the characters. Much of what they do is out of character and the things that work on TV simply don't in a cinema.

If you can ignore the ick factor of a seeming pre-teen being coerced in a Svengali way by a wordly music star, and the often condescending jabs at Italian people and culture, the film is fairly light and vacuous but pleasant enough, and highlighted by Borstein who is a hoot as an overly officious tour guide. Duff and her young co-stars are a pleasant, agreeable bunch; the movie more or less delivers what it promises, but it would have been nice if the screenplay could have been a little sharper.

If I didn't have young cousins, I never would have watched this junk. If Hilary Duff wasn't at least attractive, I would have walked out on this movie from my own living room.

I was a pretty big watcher of the show since it came out when I was the right age for it. This is obviously a bad movie, but I'm mostly just mad at the retconning it did to the relationship of Lizzie and Gordo. Also lol at all the excuses at the end of the show and this movie for not including Miranda.

I'm sure there's a reason to it and its cliched plot, but I just can't find it, maybe it was supposed to be an episode of the tv show.
