The Lone Gunmen

Really wanted to like it but some side characters are best left to the side.

Gimme that sweet Frohike.

Hard to enjoy. The comic approach would seem an interesting contrast to the grimness of MILLENNIUM, but almost every episode takes on something like the ultra-arch tone of Gilligan's loopier X-FILES efforts (the Brady Bunch one, say), which requires a level of writing/performance that does not seem possible on an extended basis with these characters. The addition of Snedden's cloyingly innocent "Jimmy Bond" was no solution. His idiocy is annoying, too often tethered to thudding linking gags.
