More than anything The Lucky Stiff (1949) is famous for being the only film Jack Benny produced. For this comedy isn't anything special. Brian Donlevy & Claire Trevor get in some unfortunate predicaments as they investigate a killing Dorothy Lamour is accused of, but the laughs are far and few between. More like a entertaining murder plot programmer. Only minor tweaks to the formula. Works fine if that's what you want it to be.
