I had mixed feeling about The Male Animal (1942). Mostly because I wasn't really liking Henry Fonda in that comic role. But at times he actually excelled in the part, so in the end I didn't really know what to think. Olivia de Havilland was close to wasted, but she did stand her ground. It's just that with such star-power one hope for something amazing. Instead it was pretty much Jack Carson, all energy, dominating the picture.
