It's a good enough movie, but I felt it did too little and needed to get more in-depth and help us understand this brilliant mind (no puns intended). Perhaps that's the point, but you want to understand more of how his mind works. Performances are great but I feel like Dev Patel has well and truly been typecast (hope his performance in Lion changes this).

For a biographic movie about an intelligent man, not at all intelligently made. Watcable, while blabering.

Could have been a lot better. Didn't live up to my expectation.

Very nicely done biopic.

The film failed, to some degree, to capture Ramanujan's brilliance, or the difficulty of overcoming his background to get to Cambridge. Also, there was a hint at the beginning that there was some romantic interest from Hardy towards Ramanujan, presumably unrequited, but this was pretty much ignored through the film. That said, I did enjoy this film, and it was a welcome insight into a figure I knew little about previously. I did also find it somewhat touching, in a distant sort of way.

A competent biographical film, but lacked a certain spark. Felt a little like it had jumped on the recent bandwagon of intellectual films. Needed either more scenes in colourful India, or a deeper exploration of the relationship between the lead and his two Cambridge professors. Clearly they felt his maths was not cinematic enough, and pushed it to the side. I'd read about the Ramanujan story, but the filmmakers failed to convince me of how remarkable he was. Sadly, a forgettable film.

Cookie-cutter worthy-em-up on a seemigly very-small budget (three corners in Cambridge) -not really worth the time.

The basic biographical film. Really can't think of any memorable characters or moments, but it all just felt rushed as a whole that it doesn't matter.

Typical biography, should have had more mathematics to make it more interesting.

Felt like a martyr movie with mathematics depicted as a constant battlefield. I'm no mathematician, but as someone who enjoys the sense of wonder and fun math sometimes brings when some apparently hidden truth reveals itself, I felt disappointed not to find this reflected in the depiction of his time in England. Especially for someone who seems to have been able to intuitively grasp math concept, skipping over much of the arduous steps his peers needed to get there. Fascinating topic anyway

Entertainment 3/4 tragic genius... can't relate. Spirit:1/3 math & spirituality. Sustainability: 1/3 slightly anti-racist message.

Brits love their intellect and like to document any historic involvement with it. While a noble story with some heart, this was boring as math class.

Never really explains why this man was so great, which means it misses the mark. The cast all put in a shift but it just sort of proceeds, rather than flows.
