Strange film would probably not be tolerable without Murray.

Quite enjoyable. Plays fairly entertainingly with stereotypes and makes for a good farce. Would probably be pretty rubbish if it wasn't for the walking, talking god that is Bill Murray though.

Inane, tedious “comedy” has fine ingredients, but can’t figure out what to do with them – Murray is completely miscast as the winsome innocent; the underlying scenario is ill-considered and thought out. Traverses oddly similar material to Fincher’s THE GAME but without a shred of wit, comic energy or even timing – it eventually devolves to Murray frantically mining non-existent laughs by prancing around wearing a silly hat, while Gallagher undergoes electrodes to the scrotum! Pitifully bad.

This is one of Bill Murray's more unique roles. His usual sarcastic, deadpan humor is tweaked a little to make him more, not unintelligent, but absent minded. The plot is fun and the scenarios Murray ends up in, and the way he gets out of them, are all very entertaining. Really good!

This is a funny movie with a nice premise. The whole movie depends on Bill Murray and he gives another funny performance. If you are a fan of Murray's then you must check this one out.

One of the funniest PG movies you'll see, if you're into the Bill Murray "clueless irony" humor.

Good cast and well acted. I feels it's Bill's funniest movie outside of Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day. If you buy the story line then you're in for a treat.

Bill Murray is always a joy to watch, and this clueless role is perfect for him. I thouroughly enjoyed the film, despite it's cliched plot of a bumbling spy, in this case one who thinks he's playing a roleplaying game.

Bill Murray plays a similar part to what he has played elsewhere, but here it really worked better than usual in my opinion. (I don't usually like Bill Murray very much.)

Sometimes enjoyable. I cringe when I think what this would have been without Bill Murray in the lead.

I was checked out in the first third but glad I stuck through, since it actually picked up afterward. Subpar love interest; good villains. Brother seemed really unnecessary to the plot. I liked how a lot of the references didn't pause for effect or tried to be too obvious to the viewers. Fav scene: Bill Murray dancing and catching the bolt with the nesting door. He truly is a superstar.

Murray is on song again in this late 90s slapstick comedy. Always an absolute blast. Everyone is having fun and nobody is taking themselves seriously. I adore it. Highly recommended.

It's harmless but entertaining for the whole family (the sex and violence will go right over the youngest one's head so it's fine). Silly and predictable at times, but it is the fact it is so cartoony that keeps the novelty of it

I found this film highly amusing - its very much a film where Bill Murray plays his Bill Murray act very well, portraying a cool, slick guy, a bit of an American know-it-all, though you may wonder how that works given the title of the film. Its the characters cluelessness while he THINKS he knows whats going on, that's so funny. Ok its not the most original of plotlines - its very silly and has quite a farcical side to it but I like that it doesn't take itself too seriously.

bill murray is a dead ringer for his role in this movie, fits it completely perfectly. this is a pretty good movie that just doesn't quite make the grade for great. i'd give it a once every 5-10 year watch, seen it about three times now and i'm not sick of it.

It's just dumb. The gag is old after about 15 minutes, so you can imagine how funny this might be after an hour and a half. I expect better from Murray and Molina.

Pleasant, undistinguished comedy that pokes fun at the sort of identity mix-up that Hitchcock used to better effect.

Bill Murray is in that rarefied "could make reading the phone book funny" field. If not for that, this would have been completely forgettable. As is, Murray is great enough to make it fairly funny and worth a single viewing.

As far as the overall story goes, this is nothing new. But Bill Murray really pulls this role off and is very fun to watch. Is some of it kind of stupid and silly? Of course, but this was enjoyable and one of the few movies that are kind of aimed at an older audience, but the whole family can enjoy.

Bill Murray brings some laughs to a spy comedy that came out the same year as the first Austin Powers. The first Austin Powers is a little better, but at least there weren't two annoying sequels for The Man Who Knew Too Little that rehashed every joke and gag.

A classic Bill Murray movie, it's a story about a clueless man who manages to bumble his way into outwitting one obstacle after another. Murray nails the humor in a way that only he does best. There are laughs throughout and its rewatchability makes it a tour de force in comedic excellence.

I coulda laughed more. There were but a couple scenes that were maybe a little long, but maybe that was the point. The dialogue is clever outstanding. Coulda seen a little more of the girl.

I laughed so much watching this. Sometimes I think I’m over Hollywood blockbusters but then I eat it up right out of their palm. It has a Hot Fuzz, Johnny English (but actually good) vibe with the charm of a “dad movie”, Bill Murray absolutely rocked :)

It's a trademark 90's over-the-top comedy, but what it has going for it is plenty of originality. Murray turns in a great performance, as he's one to do, but the plot & writing are iffy at best and there are some pacing problems. It's not particularly engaging, but it does have some laughs. Overall a decent comedy, but nothing special.

Alright as far as comedies go. I give alot of credit to Bill Murray for his supreme acting job, but the plot was a bit too farfetched for my liking, so I can't call it a great movie.

The humour is mostly just from that one note of dramatic irony, but Murray's consistent charm as the oblivious wannabe actor Wallace ("Please don't call me by my real name, it destroys the reality I'm trying to create") and a wide variety of escalating situations in which he unknowingly and hilariously vanquishes his enemies (maybe it was just the goofy hat, but I was in tears during the entire banquet scene) keep it fresh and funny all the way til the end. A simple but effective comedy.
