Has its moments, especially in the first half, but the crime aspect could've been better executed. Lacks the needed flow for such a short film.

Ton of potential, but falls kinda flat towards the end. This film was to give Edward G. Robinson a chance to put on disguises. Robinson is always good, no exception here, but he wasn't the best one in it. Louis Calhern gets that honor as the manipulative hypnotist husband of Mary Astor. A full-on scumbag charmer controlling every situation he's in. And just waiting to get killed. The plot was great. A lot of the developments was great. But this loses it's way in the storytelling.
