If you're gonna sit down and enjoy a good Sherlock Holmes mystery, you'd probable not think of the 1920s UK short films of Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary detective starring Eille Norwood and with Hubert Willis as his trusted Dr. Watson. These 2-reel films are too short and in poor quality to really be pleasant viewing. The thing with Holmes in short form, they go straight to business. Only a quick fix with the mystery solved about 20 minutes in and the next 5-10 minutes explaining what happened.
