The price of all the goods, safety en comfort that we all cherish so much every day. An ok price, i suppose. A world without a price, without compromises, without a handle that holds the beast in human kind down, could it even be possible? I doubt it. At first glance La Loi Du Marche provokes a kind of anarchistic anger but maybe it doesn't at all - this is just the struggle of life in modern era.

May be the best neo-realist and politic movie I've seen since "Ladri di Biciclette", no joke. This movie has such a humane attention and compassion for its protagonist (who resembles practically all of us today) that by focusing on him an ethical call directly appeals us against that harsh and really cruel order of objects, the total reification of life under capitalist mode of society. Guys, we should start to act immediately, but how? How?

Not the type of film that'll generate pulse boosting excitement, but becomes rewarding because of it's legit dry reality. How to adjust oneself when times are hard and you're out of work. Well acted, you recognize how real life is, with great detail on how the corporate world is in auto when dealing with human elements.

It start of as French I, Daniel Blake showing how a man can lose his self-esteem in the system. But than cleverly shift by giving its protagonist basically a job as the enforcer of the system he just before was the victim of. Ending the movie with a poignant illustration of how humanity is lost in a capitalist society in which people are treated as objects. Unfortunate some scenes drag, they go on too long even after the point is made and clear. Vincent Lindon does carry this movie with ease.

Lindon accepting with dignity all the injustice - he listens to old musac, his kid is disabled, even his car broke down(!). Then a series of humiliation on small staff and povos (all caricatures of low class people with cheap taste and festivities, but always staying worthy, And Lindon as ever the most dignified of all of them. I could (maybe) go on about how the working class is being exploited and degraded and about how the capitalist market system corrupts us all, but I'd rather get this from someone like Ken Loach, and not from this manipulative little anecdote that's really more interested in proving a point than caring about what happens to its people.

The best scenes are incredibly good and Vincent Lindon is a (quiet) riot.
