A bad movie made much worse by a truely annoying performance by side-kick Lee Evans.

Even Jackie Chan's charm can't make this truly awful film any more bearable, we're almost on the verge of unwatchable. Lee Evans is just Cringe...The outtakes are at least twice as good as the film and even those are bad.

Standard issue Jackie Chan entry from the West is reliably, almost mechanically entertaining; if Evans' British buffoon is not quite as snug a fit with Chan as Tucker, Wilson before him, he manages to generate the requisite comic energy with Chan. As usual, notable for some terrific action stunts from Chan; while no-one expects Shakespearian level writing in these, it is a shame the plot becomes far too convoluted (and silly) as the film heads down the home straight. A case of it is what it is.

Not the best of Jackie. Looks like he is getting old. Movie plot doesn't do any good to him.

Except for a few Chan action scenes, this is a pretty weak movie, just too nonsensical and silly humour.

Only its few good action- and stunt scenes save this from being utterly terrible; the music, the script, and the cinematography are abominable.

The Medallion is a CGI-infested action-comedy whose action contains no stakes and whose comedy is juvenile to the extent that even older children will scoff at it, not laugh with it. It has almost nothing to like. Its characters come straight from the book of clichés, the hero is invincible for much of the film, meaning there is no reason to get excited during the action, and you can't even be too impressed with Jackie Chan, as much of the stunts are aided with CGI or wires.

A movie choke full of stupid, unrealistic and downright ridiculous plot choices. However, in typical Jackie Chan fashion it is full of exciting chases and humorous situations. No chemistry between Jackie Chan and Claire Forlani, and Lee Evans mostly acts like an imbecile. Music was just OK. It was filmed fairly well for the farcical story that it is. Special effects were rather lame. I can't really recommend it, but there were a few nice fight moves and foot chases.

"Because the filmmakers often have so little to work with, The Medallion comes across as a mix tape of sparring sounds and various visual styles." - Ed Gonzalez

Very enjoyable! SPOILER: Many would be surprised at the fact that they get the perfect immortal couple together in the end, but it was made in China where around 65% of people want to be immortal versus the US where only about 30% want to be immortal--isn't that pathetic.

I don't enjoy most fantasy films, not because I'm a fantasy guy, but because I truly treasure the fantasy genre, and I find most fantasy films to be an insult to something I love. Anyway, this film just made it by, but I really like it. The fantasy was relatively trite and predictable, but there was a strong un-western twist at the end so I was surprised by that and enjoyed the twist. Further Jackie Chan, as always, just made it fun!

Evil Americans force Jackie Chan to make a shitty movie in which they try to explain his ability to do martial arts with magic.

Now, I've seen Jackie Chan in some pretty crappy movies, but he's not allowed to do this by 2003 when he's already a big name! I like Jackie Chan a lot, but this was really bad.
