The Milkman

The Milkman

1950
Comedy
Roger Bradley, son of a milk magnate, isn't allowed to work for his dad's company because of a lingering war trauma: in moments of stress he quacks like a duck. Desperate to escape from idleness, he gets a job with his father's arch-rival, sponsored by eccentric milkman Breezy Albright, and promptly falls in love with the boss's daughter. But his career as a milkman soon degenerates into slapstick. (imdb)

Mildly annoying, but jolly comedy where rich bad luck inflicting Donald O'Connor tries to become a milkman. That causes problems for all, good and bad, and it get quite a chaotic. Jimmy Durante is closer to becoming the heart of The Milkman as sort of like a veteran mentor milkman for the kid, and to me is main reason to watch this. O'Connor is fine, but it often falls into the same old irritations as many previous O'Connor films of trying too hard to be funny, coming off slightly artificial.
