The Miseducation of Bindu

The MisEducation of Bindu takes the established genre of high-school movies and puts a superficial cultural spin on it. Given the trailers, I was expecting something a little more quick-paced and witty. The film is by no means bad, but it often seems to tread water rather than moving scenes along when it should. Suri delivers a decent performance, but the bullying and inept teachers are an overplayed trope. The retort to "I thought all Indians want to come here" was unexpected and refreshing.
